Telaga Rindu Resto Karanganyar — Restaurant in Central Java

Had a romantic lunch with my wife at this wonderful garden restaurant at Jl. Brigjen Slamet Riyadi in Lalung, Karanganyar District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. A vast green area with a large fish pond surrounded by cozy gazebos and nice photo backdrops. Customers may take tables with high chairs in a front hall or sit on floor carpets (the Javanese lesehan style) in halls or in the gazebos. A vast parking lot for motorbikes, cars and buses. A peaceful and cozy atmosphere, accompanied by a soft recorded Sundanese flute instrumental. Clean toilets and musholla (moslem prayer place). Friendly staff. We had a white rice with a grilled chicken, a Solo selat, savory starch krupuk crackers, a hot lemon and a fresh brewed (cong) tea. Only the cong tea and the crackers were complimentary (5/5), but the dishes were just good (4/5), and the hot lemon was slightly too sour (4/5). There's a swimming pool but it was dried when...

+) Good place to hang out with family. But even so, it's lacking in the entertainment department. -) Mediocre foods. -) Underqualified staffs. Possibly understaffed as well. We ordered avocado juice we waited for a full 30 mins, only to be told it's sold out later. We asked the servers thrice. We were responded on our fourth attempt. Tf. -) Overpriced. I don't mind getting overcharged for great foods, great experience, and great service -- things they don't offer.

Going there once is okay, but there would be no future visits. I'm not going...
