Waroeng Joglo Wonosobo is a delightful culinary stop that truly captures the warmth of Javanese hospitality and flavor. I had the pleasure of trying their Soto Daging and Garang Asem, and both dishes left a strong impression.
The Soto Daging was rich and aromatic, with a savory broth that had just the right balance of spices. The beef was tender, well-seasoned, and generously portioned, making every spoonful deeply satisfying. The Garang Asem was equally impressive—a beautiful harmony of tangy tamarind, mild spiciness, and tender chicken. It’s a dish that warms your soul and excites your palate at the same time.
Beyond the food, the ambiance is a major highlight. The outdoor seating offers a refreshing cool breeze and a view of Wonosobo’s calm nature, creating a serene and family-friendly setting. It’s the kind of place where you can relax for hours with good food and good company.
Service was fast, friendly, and attentive—staff were warm and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Prices are also very reasonable, offering great value for the quality of food and overall experience.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Javanese dishes in a comfortable, scenic...
Read moreWe had dinner here on our way from Dieng to Temanggung. The vibe here portrait its name perfectly, the building were like a traditional javanese house with all the wooden tables and chairs. We were from north town of java which was hot at day or at night, so being here at night, circled by thick fog and strong cold breeze, feels so novel. There were many choices of foods and beverages here, but all of them were traditional cuisines. We ordered some that good for keeping our body's warm. The prices were a bit expensive considered it was at a small city, but still OK for tourists. I forgot to asked the server about a Non Smoking Area, so I didn't know if there were ones or not. But if you notice (mostly in my review), I always said that restaurant would be better free...
Read moreI and my wife have stopped twice at this large wonderful restaurant, at a pass between two volcanoes Mt. Sindoro and Mt. Sumbing close to the border between Temanggung and Wonosobo Regencies, Central Java Province. The building is an outstanding elegant "joglo" architecture mixed with a modern design and nice room decorations. The looming Mt. Sumbing to the East makes a fantastic background. A cozy atmosphere. We have tried ox tail soup (sop buntut), ox ribs soup (sop iga), beef meatball filled tofu ("tahu bakso sapi"), a drink of spices "wedang seroja", ginseng coffee, and crispy tapay, among others. Clean toilets and musholla (moslem prayer place) but the...
