Rumah Makan Ming — Restaurant in City of Medan

It’s one of those restaurants where it’s best to bring friends, family, or at least 3-4+ people as it’s a restaurant where you can definitely order something and eat by yourself but it’s very common to order 3-4 dishes and share with other people. I’ve eaten here a handful of times and the food has always been extremely delicious.

I’ve always come with family and didn’t directly order so I don’t know the names of the dishes but I’ve always gotten a fish with spicy sauce, meat chunks, capcai, fish balls, tofu, and such. I’m not even sure they have an actual menu as one of the owners usually just comes up and tells you what they’ve got and you just tell her what you want.

The restaurant isn’t huge but it’s definitely a decent size for multiple families of 7-9 people at once. Overall, definitely a good restaurant for multiple people sharing and they’ve genuinely got super tasty food. Prices are decent especially compared to other restaurants with the...

Old school Chinese food. Pretty cool if you ask me..

Ordered chap chye, ayam goreng, chun kian (aka wu xiang in sg or KL), foonyong egg, San chan bak (San chen rou).

The chap chye is really interesting. Because it contains pig intestines and pig liver. But lo and behold it does not reek of that bloody nor stinky taste which affects the whole dish. I am not a fan of innards, but this dish they manage to get rid of the taste and smell.

The fried chicken is also another old school one. Its unlike your middle wing fried chicken, its like bits of real chicken chopped up and being battered and deep fried. There are small crispy bits that's really nice and yummy as well.

Egg is normal.

The pork is quite nice as the dark sauce us rich in flavour. Isn't too oily as well.

Wu xiang is also decent.

Worth a go. Isn't too expensive for medan and serves up great...

Fuyonghai smell tasty, not salty at all, but very smell good.

Ayam goreng ming half portion, kriuk2 nice, ayam also tender inside.
