When going to this restaurant you would better call them, reserve a table and mention the foods you want to eat. Please see the menu first. Otherwise, they will take sometime to prepare them. Plus if arriving around lunch time, it would be packed.

The foods we ate (fish in bamboo and the hot and sour) today were delightful, fresh and full of flavours (an explosion of turmeric, garlic, galangal and other spices which most Indonesians love). The star was the one in bamboo. We ordered 2 big fish in bamboos and 1 medium one for 15 people (7 of us were guys and ate a lot!!).

In addtion, we ordered two portions of sautéed water spinach -- they kind of provided a "refuge" after so rich and strong taste of fish.

What I love the most from the restaurant was the drinks -- the pure orange juice and orange+coconut! They were served in big glasses. Really satisfying. Plus their mango sambal.

The restaurant was generous too, providing a small bottle of mineral water for free.

Parking lot was spacious, toilet was "OK" - it has the western type of toilet with water jet. No tissue though, so must bring from the table.

The busboys were friendly and quick, we didnt have any problems or drama at all during ...

the foods actually ok lah, not so good also not so bad the service staffs all very disaapointed, first when we want to order the foods, the serivce staff not even smile and explaind the menu, second, we already reserve for the 5 portions of sayur asem, but she said only have 4 portions, third, there are so many flies and when we talk to service staff, she just ignored ua forth, we ordered 8 glasses of hot the, until we almost end of meal, the tea just served and only 7 glasses, even they did not explain why only serve 7 glasses fifth, i asked for clean the table after we finished the meal, but they didn't come until one of my family stand up ask them, then they do it the point is, the service staffs are very nad attitude. we know the restauran so busy but the service have always good you know, we eat there and we paid for the meal and for free please for the owner, traim your staff to more polite especially for the service...

open at 11am but expect a full house by 1130...yes it's packed with little room to squeeze in...place is a dilapidated house with much needed home improvement, can get very stuffy and hot on a sunny day, wear t-shirts and shorts...parking is atrocious but can still manage to get in and out of the place...customers advised to order their food while waiting for their table...don't expect quick service..ratio is 1 waiter : 20 customers... the ikan bakar patin bambu is the specialty of the house...tasty seasoning all over but not spicy...you have the sambels for that...we ordered other dishes: ikan goreng gurame, sayur asem, udang goreng, karedok - standard fare... you have to eat what you came here for... the jeruk kelapa and kelapa muda is a must...after you had your fill, line up at the cashier for 10-15 minutes to pay your dues...with all this, a return...

Ikan Patin Bakar Bambu (800g for Rp.132,000) One of the best Indonesian grilled fish I’ve ever had. Tender and fatty meat of the Ikan Patin (Iridescent Shark/ some type of catfish I suppose), generously basted over rich orange sauce of complex Indonesian herbs and spices —slightly spicy; altogether wrapped within banana leaves and broiled inside a bamboo. Indulgence. They’ll serve you in-house assorted sambals (Sambal Terasi, Sambal Mangga and Sambal Matah). We ordered Karedok as well, was pretty decent, just a tad small in terms of portion size, but taste-wise pretty good. Service was alright. The dining area imbues in traditional Indonesian restaurant vibes with semi-outdoor seating (non-air conditioned), but still pretty breezy. Price was pretty decent, rather a steal for a fish that size. Overall, a great experience, definitely worth more than a pit stop!

Oct 24 Sunday lunch 2 of us Its been about 12-14 years ago when we visited this restaurant. Now the place looks bigger and brighter and more beautiful. Since it was Sunday lunch time so it was pretty much crowded. We arrived at around 12pm, after we made the order then waited to be seated for about 10 minutes. Service was good but quite slow at the beginning maybe because of the crowdedness or the place. Foods all still exceptional. Especially their ikan bakar patin bambu. Their most famous and unique menu. Just be prepared all the foods came at the spicy taste. Do try the kalimantan ice coffee. Very refreshing and taste good.

Looks can be deceiving, from outside it looks shabby but it is not. They deliver a great patin bakar bumbu inside of a bamboo. Grilled steam with herbs indo special spices. Its trully a master piece, it was absolutely tasty, this is no place for pretty eating with spoon and fork. This is for hands and sweaty eating, so wear yaur comfy t-shirt and empty your tummy. The grilled patin in bamboo is a hearty food, big portion, served with 4 different sambals. The patin meat was tender and generously seasoned. Even the tumis kangkung tasted wonderful. Definetely will come back with bigger group. In this place, the more the merrier.
