Nice place to have a meal

The owner also organises (overnight camping) trips to the island. We camped 2 nights on Routing and was good fun. He provides a simple tent and sleeping gear. In our case the meals were brought to us by boat in the morning and evening. It did meant that the food was cold on arrival. So providing a stove or bbq so we could cook ourselves would have been a better option. They prepared grilled lunch during the day trip.

We were SHOCKED by the amount of plastic and other trash on the islands left behind by the tours. We also were surprised that our crew wanted to leave our trash on the island with the pile of trash that is already there . On the contrary. It would be good to bring 1 or 2 big extra bags so they can take more trash from the islands than what they bring themselves. It would be a prayer to encourage other boat crew and tour organisers to do the same.🙏👌

We also noticed that boats (including ours), throw the anchor in the middle of the coral reefs. That way they destroy the reef, the breeding grounds for fish and other animals as well the attraction why tourists are coming. No reef, no fish, no tourists, no work ....

So the suggestion is: maybe the people of Riung, together with the homestays and the park service can install fixed mooring places. Like a concrete block with a bouy.

Owner is dishonest and greedy. We arranged a tour of the 17 Islands National Park. He charges Rp.800,000-Rp.1,000,000 for 2 people to organize a captain and pay the park entrance fee. But, he is corrupt and did not really purchase the park tickets, just showed us one old crumpled up ticket and wouldn't let us keep it. He calls himself an English-speaking guide, but you should know that he doesn't come with you on the boat (that is extra). He gave us broken snorkeling equipment and still wanted us to pay for it! Great place to have your dinner, very fresh fish and all prepared while you enjoy the vieuw and a drink. Owner organized a boat trip, with fresh fish and salades and vegetables.
