Dapur Tara - A Gastronomic Journey of Local Pride in the Heart of Labuan Bajo's Nature

My dining experience at Dapur Tara Restaurant in Labuan Bajo was truly exceptional and a testament to the passion and philosophy of its owner, Mrs. Elisabet. Nestled amidst the breathtaking natural surroundings, this unique establishment offers a dining experience that goes beyond just delicious food. It is a celebration of local pride, organic ingredients, and a deep respect for nature.

One of the standout features of Dapur Tare Restaurant is the emphasis on using organic, locally sourced ingredients. Mrs. Elisabet's commitment to sustainability and supporting local farmers is evident in every dish. The freshness and quality of the ingredients shine through, elevating the flavors to a whole new level. From vibrant vegetables to aromatic herbs, every bite is a testament to the restaurant's dedication to serving wholesome and nourishing meals.

What sets Dapur Tare Restaurant apart is the connection to nature that permeates the entire dining experience. The restaurant is beautifully integrated into the natural surroundings, allowing guests to dine in a serene and peaceful environment. The open-air setting enhances the sensory experience, immersing diners in the sights, sounds, and scents of Labuan Bajo's lush landscape.

We received a warm welcome from the waitress at Dapur Tara. The journey from our hotel took around 30 minutes by motorcycle. The setting was peaceful and serene, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing vegetarian lunch, as shown in the photo. The meal was colorful, healthy, and thoughtfully prepared using fresh ingredients picked straight from their backyard garden. We also enjoyed a cup of rich Manggarai coffee, and before ending our visit, we took part in a lovely garden tour. Just before our departure, they served us soothing pandan/pineapple tea. Overall, it was a calm and refreshing experience we truly appreciated the warm hospitality. I want to meet Kak Liz, but she was not there, send my...

I need to give an honest review about the restaurant. We booked the “Tribal dinner” and I’m afraid there is a total misconception about what you have to pay vs what you get. IDR 330.000 (PER PERSON) does give the impression you get quite an experience, especially if you know what regular dinner costs on the island/area. They presented however 7 dishes on a table which you could take some bites from in buffet-style with other hotel guests. Food is nice, and staff very friendly, but - asking this price is really unacceptable. If you are willing to pay this, I recommend to rather spend this somewhere else as you probably...

We had lunch at Dapur Tara on the recommendation of several locals. And it was well worth it. The food was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. We were given explanations for every single dish. Overall, the concept that the manager Liz has created is just great. It's quiet, beautiful with all these plants and just a paradise. The only unfortunate thing was that we hadn't planned to stay a few nights, which we will definitely do on our next visit.
