CAFE ROOVEE Jakarta — Restaurant in Jakarta

Casually strolling in Google Maps, I found this cafe. Looks convincing, and had several good reviews.

Greeted by a sleepy cashier, I enter the cafe, and the place got nice atmosphere. Ordered Paitan Ramen (Large), Gyoza, Ice Cafe Latte, and Mineral Water.

Sitting on the second floor, the place was relatively spacious and great for chilling and maybe to do some work (I forgot to check if there’s any wifi provided). Sat next to the Coffee station.

My Iced Latte comes first, and it turns to be Palm Sugar Latte (Kopi Susu Gula Aren). Quite too sweet for me, but still good. My suggestion would be to separate the sugar, since not everyone likes sweet coffee. Nice glass btw.

The ramen and gyoza comes together. The ramen came hot, and taste as good as it looks. Good chicken broth, nicely cooked noodles, nice amount of mushrooms, soft chicken and tasty ajitama. I’ll give four thumbs for the gyoza, also good job for the dipping sauce.

Service was good, and don’t forget to say Enjoy or Thank you after serving the food on the table, just a reminder.

I stumbled into this restaurant by chance during dinner time, only to stumble right back out with regret. The ambience was passable, quiet, not exactly bustling. So imagine my surprise when it took nearly an hour for my order to appear. To add salt to the wound, the dinners who arrived after me were happily eating while I was still left twiddling my thumbs.

When the finally made its grand (and belated) entrance, the disappointment was the main course. The flavor were bland, the katsu was overcooked and dry. The only generous thing about the meal was the portion size, quantity over quality, and not in a flattering way.

Given the lackluster of taste and the price tag that bites harder than the food itself, I'd say this place is more miss than hit. In short, one visit was more than enough. I won't...

I visited this restaurant twice. Both my experiences were very pleasant. I'd say the prices aren't too bad, it's in the mid price range for me. I ordered the Ramadhan special which consist of two large ramen bowls, platter of gyoza (6 pieces), two drinks and two dates. The cost of this set is very reasonable to me.
