It's a "Jaksel" experience in one of East Jakarta cafes. Knew this place form Instagram, and decided to give it a shot on weekend. Went there on Saturday afternoon, the place was huge and visible from the street yet the sign was barely seen. After the car parked, the security told us that the elevator was under maintenance. That was a bump since Lukla was located in 5th floor and we brought our baby. After taking the endless (sorry lol) stairs, we finally arrived. We were greeted by a coffee bar, unfortunately none of the staff greeted us. We entered the dining room. There were two big tables, four medium tables, and four small tables for 2 pax. At the right and left side was outdoor area, facing the scenery of East Jakarta from above. The view was just good but not breathtaking. If you're lucky enough, the sunset will be clearly visible. No menu was delivered to our table so we needed to the entrance to ask for menu and ordered it directly. I have to say that this place is well-concepted. The ambience won't make you feel like you're somewhere in East Jakarta. As we waited our food to come, we took some pictures, there were not a lot of insgrammable spots, but some corners were chic to be taken as a background. Extra point: they provide baby chair! Not to forget to mention that the toilet was super clean (maybe because we arrived early?) the area was clean, no strange odor. And we had few minutes visited the outdoor area, they were nice too. I really have to give highlight to their Sop Buntut. It was amazing. The broth was very much rich, though the portion wasn't as big as I expected. If you visit Lukla, please please please order Sop Buntut, you won't regret it. Lastly, I'd like to say that this place should get 4 out of 5 star if the staff...
Read moreI don't recommend going to this cafe. The elevator was broken when I went here, and I had to use the stairs. The cafe itself is on the fifth floor. The prayers area is way on the lowest floor, very inconvenient.
The price of the food doesn't match its quality. I bought sangria tea which is just tea with syrup and fruit pieces. The tea itself looks nice, but it is just too sweet. I tried diluting it with water, but it was still too sweet. I then ordered a portion mushroom and cheese toast, and a portion of pesto egg toast. Each of the toast was just a single piece of toast with some vegetables on the side. The pesto sauce on the pesto egg toast barely had any flavor. Each of the toasts costed 30K which in my opinion doesn't match its portion and quality.
The service was also meh. One of the workers sprayed some sort of air freshener. The first spray was alright, and enough to freshen up the place. However, he did not stop spraying. The worker looked at me coughing as he sprayed from across the room and then continued to...
