Magal EPM — Restaurant in Jakarta

Really love the free 3 sauces, especially the ssamjang and oil with salt. The other one is soy sauce? And the side dishes are free, there are quite a lot of them like cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, salad, and fusilli in sweet white sauce . Lettuce is also free and refillablr to wrap your bbq'd meat. Their corn tea is free, refillable and available hot or cold, too.

The staff will grill for you. Egg was cooked in a cavity surrounding the grill, it was fluffy. 👍 Meat was flavourful. Grilled garlic was surprisingly delicious, not spicy at all. Had pig skin, it was sweet and only a bit chewy.

Every table has an exhaust. Be careful, sometimes the staff need to refill the glowing hot coal in the grill. The table was made of steel, not very aesthetic, then again it's bbq. The front walls are half-walls, so passerbys can see you eating there. Staff were quite friendly. Btw our cook kept grilljng for us even though we ordered a lot, either she was trained or she had strong arms.

We brought our Mom here since we know our fave menu at the other branch. This branch is close where our mom lives. Honestly, everything we ordered failed to impres us and Mom. We ordered 2 seafood tofu stew and quite surprised that the taste is far from delicious and less seafood meat as the one we ordered at Moi Branch. Then we asked them to make the soup more concentrated and they did. The beef hot plate's meat also frustrated us because it was too hard to chew and again very different meat compared to what we normally had at the Moi branch. Definitely not the greatest kbbq experience here in Jakarta. Food was great, nice ambience, clean and well maintained dining table. Fair pricing, portion size was reasonable. Especially if you ordered their lunch special menu. Sadly, the staff wasn’t friendly at all. The only diner in the restaurant was our table, it was super empty. Somehow, the service was Super slow, and it feels like the staff wasn’t paying attention to their job... they have something bothering them, getting two of our order wrong and trying to disclose something with the other staff. It wasn’t comfortable at all dining in the middle of that, service was slow but feel rushed.

We hope the best for this place, but we won’t be back at this...
