Rumah Makan Al Mukalla — Restaurant in Jakarta

Possibly one of the best Arabian food you can find in Jakarta.

If you have ever eaten at Al Jazeera or Eatz, this restaurant outstrips them all both in taste and price.

Price is cheap, for one person around 55k (as of 1st of May 2019) for Briyani and Kabsah (with lamb meat) and 75k for Mandi large size. If you don't eat much, you can easily split the small one for two people and still fill full.

The rice is delicious, on par with Al Jaazera and Eatz but the lamb meat outshines every Arabian restaurant out there. The lamb is baked in an oven until the crispy on the outside but super tender on the inside. The meat juice drips down to the rice if you split it open. It's just that damn amazing.

It's very recommended to use Google map navigation to find this restaurant because it's very easy to miss. The sign is quite small so you will definitely pass it by if driving in high speed on Condet Raya.

This Restaurant support Kekah and also already very professional about it with how they are always ready for quick order of kekah. 3 million rupiah for 40 box of Nasi Mandi (as of May 2019). You can also set few portion in "Tampah?" (Can't remember the name) For you and your guests to eat directly instead...

Serving authentic Arabian dishes, this restaurant is pretty easy to spot. Serving time were pretty quick, and the menu is quite varied. The hummus is a must try. Cleanliness is good, although the lighting is a little too dim to my liking. Parking is somewhat limited, but not too small. However, pricing of the food is pretty expensive - on my visit, a meal for 4 had cost over 400k. The food and beverage did taste very good and authentic, yet IMHO it did not fully justify the rather...

Overall, the food and service are top notch. The owner was also very friendly and made us felt welcome. It felt going out to eat at a relative’s house. We ordered the 1/8 goat meat with rice that is a mix of kapsah, briyani, and mandi. The salad cream and sauces were very fresh and complement nicely with other dishes.
