SHSD stands for Sambel Hejo Sambel Dadak is an Indonesian restaurant specialized in Sundanese dishes that has several outlets in Jakarta, West Java, and Tangerang. Their outlet in Rawamangun is located in a residential area with a quite spacious parking area.
The place has a homey atmosphere with high ceiling and some paintings that show the legendary Indonesian brand on the wall. It is the unique spot as well that we cannot miss to capture. They have both of the indoor and outdoor area where there is a photo spot with the traditional Indonesian decorations at the outdoor area. Unfortunately, when we had lunch here, it was raining, so that I cannot take a picture of the photo spot clearly. The indoor area was a bit hot too as they only turned on some air conditioners.
The foods here can be ordered as ala carte or in a package. Since we wanted to try some foods here, so that we ordered Paket Liwet for two persons or more (IDR 150,000). This package consists of big portion of Nasi Liwet for sharing among 4 - 5 persons, Gurame Cobek, 3 pcs of Ayam Goreng Basah, 2 pcs of Tempe and Tahu, 2 pcs of Cimplung (the chewy potato), Sambel Hejo (green chili), Sambel Dadak (red chili, my favorite with spicy taste!), and 1 pcs of Ikan Peda Bakar. Their gurame cobek, ayam goreng basah, and sambel dadak are the best recommendation from me.
We also tried Sate Maranggi (IDR 5,000 / pcs). This beef satay is served on a hotplate. Enjoy it together with the sweet soy sauce and chili that is...

Sundanese delicacies and menu are their signature so you can definitely enjoy ayam goreng basah, fresh veggies or lalapan, sambal dadak (chili sauce a la Indonesia that is freshly made) and sambal hejo or the green chili sauce, sayur asem, peda, tempe and tahu. I know I should translate them all ini English but it's good to know the real name in bahasa Indonesia :).
The restaurant as I said is pretty.you can sit inside, on the second floor, or even on the terrace. They do have tons of vintage items, some are even from my parents' childhood.
They have a mini studio in the back where you can take picture using the vintage costumes and all the properties. It's really cute indeed. My family and I did take tons of photos down here LOL.
The service is good. Fast and friendly staff. The price is very reasonable for a lovely place like this!
I keep coming back to this place with my family and friends. If you are around, don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read morewe ordered paket for two persons which contain one gurame (we are allowed to change how it was cooked), two fried chickens, two tempehs and two tofus, two cimplungs (fried. mashed potato), one grilled salted fish (peda), the legendary sambal dadak (red colored chili sauce) and sambal hejo (green colored chili), and lalapan (raw vegetable) served with an awesome towered plate storage. verdict: grilled gurame and fried chicken are delicious, sambal hejo is not what I expected. their cimplung is disappointing. but still we feel that the menu is worthy compared to its price...
