Definitely HALAL !!!
Basically it is a BEEF RIBS SOUP aka Sop Iga Sapi.
A little intro that this particular beef cut is tough to chew but with a proper slow cooking, it is known to be a delicious and tender meat plus the bones adds a beautiful flavor to the broth soup.
Have been recommended by many friends to try this particular Janda Soup. In Bahasa Indonesia, Janda usually means widow but in this case Janda is actually abbreviation for Jawa Sunda which means Javanese (usually refer to Central Java) and Sundanese (refers to West Java).
Located within Industrial Area called MM2100 with many local and multi national factories are based there, this specific Sop Janda Ibu Fahru is well known among locals and visitors.
It is quite strategically located, however car parking is very limited and since the road is busy so parking can be an issue. Lucky for me, I got a sweet parking spot just across the establishment when I got there.
Nothing much to point out regarding the food menu. They served Beef Ribs Soup with options from mild to very hot, indicating the chilli padi (cabe rawit) they put in the soup.
Rice is free flow, you can top up more at no additional cost. As a side dish, they have ready to serve fritters such as Tahu Isi and Bakwan (Bala Bala).
The main dish, Sop Iga itself was unique because of the chillies they put on the soup, you can ask for the regular soup and have the chilli soup on the side. The meat was tender, easily came off the bones, it is best to use your bare hands to hold on to the bones (caveman style) and drink the chilli soup which for me tasted very fresh (hot and tangy), thanks to the lime. The soup broth itself was rather clear and clean, I can hardly tasted any spices or maybe it was overpowered by the chilli.
The place was fully packed of people during my time of visit. Will probably come back to have another go and definitely will recommend to family and friends who are visiting the area.
But again, I do not think it is something worth driving for.
