Good place to have breakfast or dinner. The place is located near Candi sambisari. Mightbe 30minutes from Yogyakarta downtown, depends on the traffic. But quite near from Adisucipto airport. The place quite wide, but at holiday or weekend this place quite crowded.
When youre come you have to order the food first, then the waiters will give you a number to deliver the food, you can pick your sit freely then. After 2-3 minutes the food will come, i think it quite fast.
The main food served here is soto, indonesian style soup. The special here is the soto served on coconut shell. You can have the rice combined the soto or separated. For the drinks they offer usual indonesian drinks like ice/hot tea or orange.
The park area is beside the streets in front of the restaurant. Quite wide for motorcycle and car still can park on the roadside because the road is not too crowded.
The restaurant ambience is good, its offering village, ricefield ambience. The cleanliness is also good. The staff is quickly clear the table after the visitor leaving.

Read moreSoto Batok Mbah Katro has been my must-visit spot every time I come to Yogyakarta since 2019, and it never fails to bring comfort and satisfaction. Over the years, the place has grown, now with more dining tables and a much larger parking area, making it easier and more enjoyable to visit. The taste of the soto remains consistently delicious: warm, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, true comfort food that feels like a warm hug in a bowl. What I love most is how the price still matches the quality, every bite is worth it. And here’s a little hidden gem, right in front of the entrance, there’s a kue cucur seller who makes them fresh on the spot. The cucur is perfectly fried, crispy on the outside and soft inside, with just the right sweetness, it instantly takes me back to my grandma’s kitchen. It’s a nostalgic, heartwarming treat that completes the whole experience. Definitely a place I’ll keep...
