Restaurant East Bali. — Restaurant in Kecamatan Karangasem

Dined with a group last evening, drawn by the venue’s promise of elevated cuisine and ambiance. Visually, the restaurant delivers—a thoughtfully designed space that evokes sophistication and intention. However, beyond the aesthetic, the experience faltered.

Service began on a poor note: a preset fork visibly soiled with gecko droppings. While staff replaced it with an apology, no further gesture was offered to acknowledge what, in any fine dining context, is an unacceptable oversight.

Staffing appeared stretched thin, with a single server attending our group. Water was not served until after all orders were placed—an unusual and impractical policy, especially in this tier of dining. Service remained slow throughout the evening.

The food, regrettably, did not redeem the evening. Execution was inconsistent: the ribs were well-prepared and flavorful, but pasta dishes arrived undercooked, as did the grilled vegetables. The Semur—a signature and most expensive item—was notably modest in portion and failed to leave an impression.

In sum, while the restaurant aspires to a Four Seasons-level experience in design and presentation, it misses the mark where it matters most: service precision and culinary consistency. Fine dining is not only about ambiance—it’s about care in every detail. Sadly, this experience did not meet...

This is a HIDDEN GEM on the East Coast, a must visit......opened pre covid in 2018 and going strong. We were searching on google for lunch and this place popped up so we decided to give it a go, no regrets...... The warmest greetings on arrival from all the ladies, followed by very attentive and helpful service. Located within the Droom Villa complex, the atmosphere is outstanding. I have included some photos of the food and the surrounds. The kitchen Team is headed up by Made, a local Indonesian Chef focusing on fresh ingredients with a touch of Italian flair. We ate at restaurant East Bali in Tumbu five nights in a row and it was a treat every time. The food is so fresh and tasty you can immediately tell that the food is cooked with passion and love. The Italian dishes are exactly as they should be: pure, authentic and with the best ingredients.

The pizzas are really not to be missed: deliciously thin, crispy bases and perfectly baked in the wood oven and you can immediately taste it. The pastas and other dishes are also all top notch. And that for prices that you can only dream of in the Netherlands!

In addition, the atmosphere here is incredibly pleasant. The staff is friendly, relaxed and makes you feel at home right away. Every evening was a highlight of the day for us. A real must visit if you are in the east of Bali. We will...
