I must recommend this place to everyone. When you first arrive you think maybe not, but do it. Their food is amazing. First of all the owners are very sweet and welcoming. You get your menu cards and order. Then you can hear from the kitchen that they start preparing the food. Nothing is done in advance, and everything is fresh and super nice. For starters we had the Springrolls to nights in a row. I have never tasted so good tasting rolls before. This is a MUST try. First night we had the curry chicken and pork soya for main courses. Very very nice. Second night (with the springrolls as a starter again) we had the grilled fish, calamari stirred fried and the beef with coconut sauce all with rice. A genuine, and welcoming traditional Balinese experience at this warung (restaurant). It’s the kind of place I forget to take pictures, because the food makes me want to dive right away.

We especially liked the fried Spring Rolls with egg and mixed vegetables inside, a little sambal sauce added from a bottle at the table. Just the right balance of all the flavors.

And each time the cook brought us banana fritters at the end. Delightful and delicious. Prices very reasonable.

This place is on a local narrow street. We walked there easily from the place where we were staying.

Marta and her husband are very friendly and welcoming. If it seems the food takes a long time to arrive at your table it is because it is all made to order. This became our go to place for dining out...

We dined here almost every night during a stay at Alila Manggis - the food and welcome were so great we didn't want to go anywhere else. Don't be put off by the modest exterior, the food is a hidden gem.

Definitely try the spring rolls, they're the best we've ever tasted - freshly hand-made rather than the processed versions we're so used to elsewhere. Likewise, what makes the food so great is that it's freshly cooked with love. We tried a lot of the menu and can especially recommend the rendang (astonishingly good), the curry, stuffed pork chop, nasi goreng...
