Disclaimer: I'm a Melburnian.
This brunch cafe claims to be Melbourne inspired. Let's see how they do.
Service: they give you QR code to scan. No "do you want coffee to start with?" question that I was expecting from a "Melbourne inspired" cafe. Prepare to wait 10-15 mins for your coffee.
Interior: industrial with some cute colourful touch. I guess this is where the "Melbourne inspired" tagline comes from. I can imagine a cafe like this popping up in Fitzroy, South Melbourne, or Chapel St.
Food Menu: if you're looking for Melbourne/Aussie brunch classics, you won't find it here. No avo toast nor eggs benedict. Their original menu is quite interesting though.
Espresso-based coffee: no Magic in menu. Flat white tastes like a really diluted Latte. Can't really taste the espresso shot and it just tastes like hot milk. One of the worst latte art I've ever seen.
Filter Coffee: they sourced their beans from good sources including the famous Fugol Roastery from Bandung. I picked an anerobic honey beans from Kamojang, roasted by Fugol. I expected to get smooth, pleasantly acidic, and fruity cup with little to no bitterness. What I got was an astringent cup with bitter aftertaste and some acidity, but little to no fruity taste. The beans were good but overextracted to the abyss during the brewing process.
Breakfast Croissant: No flaky outside and buttery inside; just stale and soggy croissant. The omelette is nicely cooked and seasoned though.
Yangnyeom Chicken: tastes decent but the smell was extremely off; like it was fried in a bad oil or the flour went bad.
Broken rice with grilled chicken: finally a meal that I was quite happy with. The chicken was juicy and the rice was perfectly cooked. Not amazing by any means but something that I won't complain about.
Verdict: If you're a Melburnian missing the taste of home, this place won't give you that. If you're not a Melburnian and want a nice brunch, look...

A small "Melbourne vibes" cafe right in front of Manhattan housing complex. Place was small and cozy altho looking quite plain looking from the outside.
I entered the establishment and order at the bar, its quite disappointing that altho the owner(s) were there, there weren't any kind of greeting from them (please note that there r only 2 customers present including me). To be honest, a simple welcome or a friendly nod will be suffice.
I asked for their food recommendation and one of the owners suggested me to get the salty maple pancake, and i immediately followed. I ordered an ice chocolate alongside with my meal.
Salty Maple Pancake MOSTLY DISAPPOINTED BY THE "MAPLE" they use!!!! Its distinguishably not maple, but some sort of essenced syrup. It's sweetness was overpowering the whole meal. Pancake was a little bit dry. Could be moister, but was tolerable. Coleslaw could use a different dressing as it didn't taste fresh and tangy but more heavy and too mayo-ey. The coleslaw could benefit from a store bought dressing or balsamic dressing instead. But i think the worst part was figuring some undercooked part in my chicken at the end of my meal, as you can see in the picture below. I was quite unsure at first altho i feel a little bit fishy taste. Totally ruined the whole experience
The ice chocolate i ordered was nice though. Might be too dark for non chocolate lovers, but for me its just right.
In the end of the day, I personally think this cafe didn't belong in PIK area since there are better cafes and brunch place (Gaise and Jordnara totally worth a mention).

Read moreThe coffee shop was always crowded whenever we visited. Fortunately, we were able to find a seat without having to wait in a queue. The indoor room was quite small, and the ambiance was supposed to be cozy with a simple Melbourne style. However, it was quite hot due to the full capacity.
They used filtered coffee from Fugol and specifically used their own house blend. Unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations, and we left the coffee shop feeling disappointed.
Bianco brew coffee, which is their signature, was quite enjoyable at first sip. The cream had a spicy, aromatic flavor with a combination of orange peels and cinnamon. However, after a few minutes, it became watery and weak, and I could no longer taste any notes from it.
A cappuccino was presented with aesthetically bunny latte art. However, micro bubbles popped up everywhere pretty fast after one minute of serving. The flavor profile exhibited nutty characteristics with a light body and an undesirable watery consistency.
The Matcha Espresso Tira-Chizu was slightly below my expectations. The ceremonial grade matcha lacked the umami flavor that is characteristic of it, and the espresso flavor was also quite subtle. The sweetness level was appropriate, but the bitterness of matcha with espresso lingered a bit too weakly for my preference. The texture was satisfactory, but the layers separated...
