Be aware of drink scam. Three of us (female tourist)went there to enjoy dinner and a couple drinks in a nice environment. When we sat down we asked if there was any drink specials and the waitress told us it was 2 for 1 spirit drinks special. I had her point out the spirits in the menu. We then asked if we could order 1 gin / tonic and 1 vodka /soda for the 2 for 1. She said yes. Later we ordered 2 more and asked if the special was still on and she said yes.

When we received the bill it had 6 spirits at $7.00, mix at $4.00 and also charged $4.00 for a normal bottle of water with dinner which was extremely high price for water and mix.

When we went to the cash register and asked to minus 3 drinks as there was a 2 for 1 special. They refused so we spoke to the manager and were informed that the 2 for 1 was to purchase a full bottle and she showed us a sign off to the side of the lobby which we didn't see. We said that the waitress clearly knew we were talking about drinks not bottles. The waitress was asked what she said and she diened that she said glasses.

After over 20 mins of a strained discussion we final got a small discount but not equivalent to the 2 for 1. The 2 for 1 also did not include mix.

The food was average and some of it over priced. We were enjoying the evening until the bill came. None of us will go back there again when we...

The adjoining hotel is very good, the restaurant.... not so much. When I visited for dinner (normal time, ca. 19 hrs.) the huge place was empty, and eardrum-shattering techno was playing at full volume. It took two attempts to make them put on something else, but they finally did.

I had a seafood platter and a pizza, and despite asking (several times) for the former to come first as an appetizer and the pizza afterwards as a main, both of course came at the same time, already almost cold. In a place like this (which is not cheap) I would expect staff to have basic service training and at least a rudimentary grasp of international dining and the structure of a menu. The seafood tasted like it came right out of the freezer and into the microwave (very dry and bland), the pizza was, I guess, o.k. After serving the food, staff disappeared, and each time I wanted something (another drink, the bill etc), I had to walk towards the kitchen (a very long way in this huge place) to make myself get noticed.

Also, the place is very expensive for what you get. All in all, not a...

Good ambience. I ordered iced chocolate and it's great! We also had chicken wings combo platter. In the menu, it's written the snack will be served with 2 sauces (spicy and salted egg). HOWEVER, the waitress brought my chicken wings and yet salted egg sauce was nowhere to be seen. I asked her where's the salted egg sauce, she said "it's not available now". Why didn't the waitress tell me? And, the so-called spicy sauce is not spicy at all ! It's a bangkok sauce, sweet and not spicy! Plus, it took about 10 minutes until the waitress served and brought the menu list to us. Not reccommended, the snack is below average, over price, not...

Amaaaazing thin crust pizza. I had the se’i lover’s pizza which is perfect for me since I’m a “Se’i Sapi” lover. The combination of thin crust, melted cheese, savory smoked beef and chili pepper is just sublime. Also tried the “Nasi Bakar Se’i Sapi” which I think is perfectly done. The Moringga Beef baguette is ok…too much veggie and too little beef. Lastly…the Legendary Klepon is just…wait for it…LEGENDARY! Atmosphere is great. Situated next to the beach and there is a big stage for live performance. Haven’t seen any performance here yet but just by looking at the setup, any live performance here must be spectacular.

Went here for sunset dinner when staying in Kupang for 2 nights. Can't recommend more highly. The food was incredible, especially the beef ribs (IGA), and the drinks were great. The managment even gave us some free local beers that reminded us of of UK micro breweries (Hace Kupang Beer). After dinner we played pool for a couple of hours and enjoyed the ambience. Wonderful evening all round, must visit when in town.

Western food, but also local in Kupang if you wish. Portions are only small and prices are excl. 20% tax. Normally tax is stated under the menu, but not here if I’m right. This makes Bintang small the most expensive one in months, of 58K ex. Even more than Single Fins on Uluwatu Sundaypartynight. Good service but small portions and overpriced without any reason.
