Napa Eatery and Bar — Restaurant in Malang

This experience was a joke from beginning to end. We came because of the good reviews and were highly disappointed. Never again. We waited more than 1h to get our food although we were the only ones in the restaurant. A group of 6 chinese people came a bit later and got their food served before us. When the food finally arrived, they only brought... 1 dessert 😅 we thought they were joking. That was pure nonsense. After we ate it, the rest of the food arrived altogether : starters, main courses + the other dessert. The fries and the burger were cold, dry, and by the time we finished eating the main courses the ice cream had completely melted. Quesadillas had no guacamole even thought they said so on the menu. Cake super super dry. Food was very very average and definitely not work the money. Money and Time wasted at this place. No discount to compensate this disaster and the staff doesnt speak English.

They just told me the kitchen was closed that's why our order took a long time but then why dont they tell you that BEFORE ? Organization there is a complete mess and we were alone (I guess I understand why it is empty maybe). Cant imagine if there is more people waiting. Me and my friend wanted to order some food after waiting for 30 minutes for the waiter to come to our table. I only wanted some truffel fries, and they had nothing that tasted like truffel, not even truffel mayo. My friend asked for a pizza, but they were out of pizza. Then he asked for pasta and they were out that aswell. When the waiter came back she said that my order was the last one of the night, meaning my friend couldn’t eat. So 5 minutes after I ordered my fries, I asked if we could cancel the order, so we could get food some where else, they said it was already in the making. No problem we said, but then we had to wait 20 minutes just for the fries. Then we had to pay 10% service fee and 9% tax on our order. Never experienced anything like this at a higher end restaurant. We stayed at Ascent Premier Hotel and decided to have quick snack/dinner at Napa. Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations since hotel restaurants are usually just mediocre but I could feel that Napa really put in a lot of thoughts and sincerity in their food and services. It really exceeded our expectations!

We ordered the quesadilla, and it was very delicious—the flavors were well balanced and the portion size was just right. The rooftop vibe was also amazing, especially with the really chill weather in the evening.

A special shoutout to Kak Rika, who served us with such warmth and friendliness. She even remembered my name, which made the experience feel extra personal.
