This restaurant has come highly recommended but it didn’t live up to the hype. When we arrived we were guided through half the restaurant only to be led back to a table a couple meters from the entrance. They have traditional music playing, which really supports the atmosphere. What really didn’t help was the radio right behind us that was at least equally as loud if not louder at times. So we had to listen to pop music from the back and traditional music from the front the whole time. The food was brought quickly but my Chinese black pepper beef only came as that - the sauce with beef and veggies. No rice, nothing. Just this huge plate with a puddle of sauce in the middle. For 95k you’d expect at least some rice but that we had to order and pay separately. In addition it was so insanely spicy that I physically couldn’t eat it. I have had this exact same dish in at least two other countries and it hasn’t once been even a little spicy. I’ve been traveling through Asia for years and can eat quite some spice, so it’s surprising that this was too much. My partner had the same problem with his dish. Both of them didn’t mention any level of spicyness on the menu yet there were red chilis all over and in his food. Halfway through he asked if they had some coconut or almond milk to lessen the burning but the waiter immediately declined and offered a coke. They have heaps of dishes on the menu that are prepared with coconut milk. I don’t think it would’ve been impossible to get a small glass of it and charge us for it. We mentioned this all to a waiter (ours from the beginning disappeared) and he went to talk to someone. A third waiter then came to present us the bill with 10% off my dish. I mean, fair enough we pay for my partners dish, he ate most of it but I barely had a third of mine. In that sense, the service wasn’t amazing either. The communication from our first waiter was formal but not polite or nice. Maybe we’re a bit spoiled by all the super nice people we’ve met so far but in a restaurant like this you’d expect a bit more. For the prices they ask you’d think it’s way better than this. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else or ask your waiter lots of questions about the food to make sure you know what to expect. I’m not even going to take the uneaten half of my dish home because it’s simply not edible. We’re disappointed and I my...

My recent dining experience at Taman Indie Restaurant in Malang was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled in the heart of the city, this charming establishment offers a delightful journey through the diverse and flavorful world of Indonesian cuisine.

From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with rustic decor and lush greenery that exuded a sense of tranquility. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home from the start.

The menu at Taman Indie showcases a wide range of traditional Indonesian dishes, each prepared with a modern twist and a focus on locally sourced ingredients. From aromatic rendang to spicy sambal, every dish was a celebration of the rich and vibrant flavors of the archipelago.

I was particularly impressed by the restaurant's commitment to sustainability, with eco-friendly practices evident in everything from the biodegradable packaging to the use of organic produce. It's clear that Taman Indie not only cares about serving delicious food but also about preserving the environment for future generations.

Overall, my dining experience at Taman Indie Restaurant Malang was nothing short of exceptional. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the authentic flavors of Indonesia while supporting a sustainable and socially responsible business. I can't wait to return and explore more of their...

Would not recommend!

The restaurant itself looks good, but sadly enough this is everything. The waiter brought us to a table far away from all the other guests in a corner even though more than half of the tables were free. Here we sat in between two speakers who played different loud music. Both the dish of me and my girlfriend were so spicy we could not eat them. On the menu it wasn’t written anywhere for these meals they would be spicy and the waiter didn’t bother to inform us it was spicy. For a restaurant with his high price this is the minimum service we would have expected. When I asked for some coconut milk agains the spices I was simply told they don’t have it even though it is used in multiple dishes. When we told them about the food being to spicy and not being informed, 3 different waiters came to us but not our original waiter or a manager. We were offered an exchange meal which we refused because we didn’t want to eat here anymore.

The only thing we got was a 10% discount on one of the meals.. The service is terrible and for this price we are very disappointed. Would...

Had lunch with husband at Taman Indie today and we would have given them 10 stars for their excellent service if we could! My husband ordered Bebek Goreng but after two bites he decided that the bebek was not fresh, not crispy, and he could tell if it was kept for quite some time (I also took a bite and it was indeed not fresh). He only finished the rice and plecing before ordering something else. We weren’t too happy with that so we told the waiter about the bebek and asked why wasn’t it fresh… The waiter told us he would either replace the order or cancel it from our bill, which we refused! We were only telling them. Since my husband had eaten all the rice and plecing, of course we wouldn’t want it to be cancelled from our bill. But when we were about to pay, the waiter who approached us with the bill said the Bebek Goreng wouldn’t be charged for us! And they apologized repeatedly. That was honestly very nice of you, Taman Indie. We certainly did not expect that. I ordered Nasi Campur Bali, which was good. The sambal matah was nice and not too spicy. Please keep up with the impressive service.
