I stayed here twice. The first time was with my wife and the second time was with my wife and her parents. The place is in a rice field so it is very atmospheric but in the middle of nowhere. The reason for the one star is because the homestay is overpriced for what it provides. The staff are brilliant and did everything to make the stay pleasant. However we encountered 8 cockroaches in our family room (number 6).I killed two of them. The staff killed the rest. But we were not able to get a good night's sleep on our final day of our holiday and had an early flight the next morning. My wife's parents also had a cockroach in their room too and killed it. We complained to the owner in the morning before our flight and he was very rude and arrogant to my wife. Not being sympathetic to the situation and only offered a 20% refund not a full refund like we requested. He said if we knew their were cockroaches in the evening why didn't you stay somewhere else. It was after 9pm we did not have our driver anymore and we were tired and didn't know the area and just wanted a relaxing evening. He advised he couldn't provide a full refund because then he couldn't pay his staff and he also checked the room the next day and said it was clean when we left the cockroach I killed in the morning (see the picture) he claimed it was a cricket (absolutely ridiculous). Although the cafe had some nice music and the food that we had was ok we will not stay here again. The staff were great but the manager needs to be sympathetic to guests. I also found out their are many rules that guests must adhere too or they lose their deposit. So I advise you don't be fooled by the remote and nice looking location. The room is very hot, no TV, WiFi is poor except in the restaurant and no air con or fan and we had to put a towel at the foot of the door to prevent any bugs getting in. However we noticed their is no grating in the bathroom so any bugs and small animals can get I there. We will definitely not return due to the rudeness...

When i arrived in front of the location, Piltik look white, clean, and shining. Then i came in and amazed with the interior of the cafe, Ulos hanging on the wall, cute mug, dried tree branch, flower, cute desk n chair, great lamp, nice quote pictures everywhere. The waiter and waitres are also friendly and helpful. I ordered cafe latte and andaliman fried rice, which were great. Moved into my room, which located in the main house join with the owner, the interior was more intimadating, full furnished and cute kitchen set. My room was simple and clean with no TV and no TV, because who needs AC in this cool area. Too bad the hot water in bath room didnt work well. The bed was great and so...

I drive 210 KM from my home (medan) to hit this beautiful cool place.

no booking, lucky 1 room left, the staff arrange 2 extra bed for us.

the room was ok, clean and well maintain.

we had nasi goreng for breakfast, combine with a fresh juice and sliced fruits. it was ok.

the coffee was good, same with other coffee variants. the tiramisu ok too.

the best, when we had a walk in the morning we mwt the owner (Mr. Tigor ) and escort us to the new beautiful coffee shop behind the hotel. it's about 200 m walk from the hotel trough padi field and it's beautiful scenery.

Mr. Tigor was very warm and informative. he is one of the best photographer in Indonesia.

love to come...

I think Piltik has become a Siborongborong pride. It's quite small but has a clean, simple, cozy and modern feel. It's a must visit if you're in town. The owner is super friendly and caring. They take pride in using local produce and training local staffs. Usually the service in North Sumatera is often careless (if not rude) but I don't see that here in Piltik. All staffs are very friendly. The minus part is somehow the mattress is not very steady. Maybe some people enjoy it but we don't. Nasi goreng kecombrang is so so, but the one with Nila fish is awesome! We quite liked the tiramisu and ofcourse their coffee. I hope I can visit here again.
