I love the setting and the restaurant design, especially the view. Everything is so nice over there, but we had problems when eating there for the first time today.

We came there by walking from our small resort, and google maps was very confusing. Google maps lead us to a "Shortcut", but it took us 20 minutes. Luckily a village guy helped us and he took us there. After we were done, we decided to try the other way which was faster. Only took us 15 minutes and definitely not confusing.

When we arrived there, we were 5 people and there are seatings for 4 people. My father asked if we could just connect the tables and chairs together so it will be enough for 5 people. The female staff just said "No sorry, cannot". My father got confused and said "Why not?!?", because we really wanted the sunset view, and she said we just couldn't. My mother decided to ask another staff and the staff said, it's allowed to connect the tables and chairs. Thought it was very weird.

The food delivery was good, but the food was not really pleasant. My father got the spaghetti Aglio Olio and he said it tasted like nothing. Only olive oil in it, and no such spices like, garlic, pepper, salt, etc. He had to ask for pepper and salt, just to add more flavour. The spaghetti food portion was also pretty small for over 50k. My mother also had to wait for her 2 drinks she ordered, and it seems like the staff/kitchen forgot. The Ice Lemonade Tea and her Bali Coffee delayed and we don't know the case. Either the kitchen forgot to make it, or the staff didn't let the kitchen know. It's okay to make mistakes, but the staff didn't apologize at all. We don't need apologies, but atleast try to be polite 👍.

After we got to our resort, it seems like my dad got food poisoning and stomach pain from the spaghetti he ate. I saw the reviews and most of the cases, were from the spaghetti. My dad isn't allergic to anything either, and he usually eats spaghetti.

Please improve most of these, except for Google Maps. Google maps was wrong, but the food poisoning and service wasn't pleasant. I think the restaurant is amazing, but if you can try figuring out these mistakes, we will maybe come back again, and your low rates will...

Oh boy, where to start with this one. Definitely overrated and hyped place. I'd call it a fancy tourist trap.

-First arriving you'll have to pay for parking there. The atmosphere and location looked nice at first, although we arrived after sunset. No view over the sea unfortunately, but we saw bali lights in the far distance which was nice. Fancy looking decor... the ride here was fun with a scooter.

-Waitresses are dressed funny, in golf course outfits, and you'll find occasionally for tourists a local dance music show. Found the waitresses neutral and a bit forced to act nice.

Music was really bad and super loud, 10-15 year old NRJ radio pop hits, which looped again after 10 songs or so. Only lyrical songs, making it impossible to have a conversation. We also literally heard them switching over to NRJ radio accidentally after the loop had played, which they corrected quickly with a same round of corny teen pop songs.

-The menu had literally only 2 or 3 vegetarian options, which were a burger and pizza margherita. I was forced with the pizza, which when arriving, ended up tasting and looking like a frozen pizza. For 90k rp price tag, this is unacceptable. I couldn't finish it unfortunately.

+Coke came in a nice glass with ice & lime, plus for that. +Cute dogs and a puppy running around the restaurant 💚

I see them making money with this place from Instagram hungry teens and young adults, who think this place is cool. That's really the only crowd we saw when we looked around, miniskirts, phones hanging from necks and flashlights from photos all over 😅 Honestly, if you're not a 'influencer', don't bother, you'll find good local restaurants better than this show. I was bothered the entire visit and did not really enjoy at all, not the food or the atmosphere.

Not...

The views from this restaurant are absolutely amazing and the staff spoke good English but that's the only good part. They're close to the villa I'm staying at, so I looked up their menu. After messaging via WhatsApp to confirm they offer delivery, they asked for the name of my villa and then did not respond for almost 2 hours. After the first 30 min, I reached out to their 2nd WhatsApp number and never got any reply. I was very hungry and tired of waiting, so I decided to walk (12 min rocky path, moderate incline). After arriving and asking for Take Away, they took a while to take my order. The staff was nice, asked questions about my travel, but still had not taken my order after I told them multiple times I wanted to order Take Away. I was enjoying the scenery, but they kept coming back asking where I wanted to sit. It was very hot, I was hungry, tired, and sweaty. Eventually, I was able to order for Take Away. The food came out quickly, but both items ordered were awful (Margherita Pizza & Spinach Ravioli). Absolutely no flavor whatsoever. For the pizza, the crust was like cardboard & cheese had NO flavor. For the ravioli, the spinach was unseasoned, simply tasted wet & wilted while the side of parmesan sauce was just unflavored cream. The only tasteful thing was their Balinese Sparkling Wine, which was severely overpriced (700K), while the menu said 600K, and the bottle still had the original price tag of 42.5K. Even if the price tag is the wholesale price, the wine was still more expensive than other places close by, but I did not feel like walking anywhere else but back to my villa. After I'd returned to my villa and started eating, they decided to respond on WhatsApp. Had I waited on them, it would've taken hours...

Rude receptionist, but good food & service recovery We had high expectations for Amarta Penida, but our first impression wasn’t very welcoming. Upon arrival, Eka, the receptionist, did not greet us warmly. Deva, the waiter, guided us to the farthest table, handed us the menu, and left. It was 2:30 PM, and we hadn’t eaten lunch yet after a tiring hot day tour around Nusa Penida. Despite only a few guests at that time and many staff preparing for the peak sunset hour, it still took about 5 minutes to get anyone’s attention when we were ready to order. When we decided to change tables (so we wouldn’t feel like outcasts), Eka told us rudely: “Go back to your table! We’re full house! All reserved!” Her tone and attitude were not guest-friendly at all. The truth is, it would only take us around 20 minutes to eat and leave since we had to catch our speed boat back to Bali — we weren’t staying long enough to occupy seats until sunset. Thankfully, Deva was accommodating — he let us move, and later checked on our food and needs. Kudos to him for winning back our satisfaction. The food was delicious, served within 15 minutes as promised, and the place itself is great for dining. However, I believe the receptionist should be trained better, as they are the first face of the restaurant. First impressions last, and unfortunately, ours wasn’t good.

I love this place!!! It quite easily offers some of the best views from Nusa Penida, and the atmosphere and design of the restaurant itself is like stepping into a dream. There's soft, warm lighting cascading down every level of lawn and garden from the bustling bar and dining area, and the cool glow from the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. (Yes-- infinity pool. And yes, patrons are welcome to enjoy a refreshing dip at any time during their visit)! If that wasn't breathtaking enough you'll surely be captivated by the AMARTA Gate of Heaven! It's the perfect opportunity to capture beautiful memories in a truly stunning setting. As if there weren't enough reasons to visit, AMARTA boasts an impressive and varied menu for a quality fine-dining experience. Personally, my favorite is the Pan Seared Salmon-- every succulent bite is expertly seasoned and always cooked to perfection. Don't miss out on the French Fries, either! I believe the fries serve as proof that the chef believes in making EVERY part of their menu flavorful and exciting, and doesn't skimp on the details 😀 Last but not at all least--a big thank you to the lovely wait staff that I met during my visits! I always felt that I was being welcomed back by friends, and I will look forward to seeing them again soon 💗
