Read moreThis was our best food experience during our trip to Indonesia. The location is hidden, but in the end it is advantage, because you can feel real village atmosphere. The warung is surrounded by nature, there is lot of friendly animals. The owner Wayan is the best guy we met on Nusa Penida. He is so kind, polite, friendly and talkative. We spoke couple minutes and it was very nice experience. He will answer every your question, his English is very good. Now, the food - the food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We tried grilled local fish, which was delicious. Chicken with sambal Matah was perfect, try it! We tried mango and pineapple juice, and they were absolutely perfect, the best fresh juices ever. Ice coffee very tasty, too. We tried frittas banana, omg, sooo good! For all these great meals prepared from local and fresh ingredients we paid only 130K. Please, try to find this hidden warung and enjoy the gastro heaven! It really worths it.

Read moreThe journey to the warung was a true journey. Through the bushes and the dirt we arrived at the warung. Luckily the owner had placed a few signs, this made it easier to find. When we arrived, we were immidiately received by the host. He was happily awaiting our arrival. He led us to our seat, a garden table with suiting chairs. He welcomed us by saying: "Welcome to my very small forest Warung!". Very true, and also very cozy. At first we were a bit taken a back by the mosquitos, but this hazzard was quickly made undone by some deet. He gave us the menu with a nice explenation of the Balinese way of cooking. After we selected the first course, he brought us some tourist lecture to read during our wait. Very thoughtfull! Due to the hard road and the mosquitos we were at first planning on leaving after the first course to go somewhere more reachable. After the first bites of the lovely Chicken Geprek we smeared ourselves completely with the deet and kept the food coming; it was the best we had in our time here in Indonesia! Five stars completely deserved and we really recommend to everyone...
