Mister Mayor Cafe & Resto — Restaurant in Palembang

Had this place on my list for a whike. So when today my first dinner option was fully booked, I decided to have dinner here.

When we got there it was busy and we had to wait for a table. Under the table were still some food stains, some rubbish from previous customers.

We both ordered the Mayor steak, bread, drinks and a salmon teriyaki steak.

It took a half hour to get our drinks. I asked for sugar with my coffee, because it was not provided The waitress had to get it, but did give a spoon with it.

When we got our steaks I got the wrong sauce and when this was fixed the fries had turned cold. Steaks were welldone and just so-so tastewise. Fries were bland and tasted like cardboard.

Salmon teriyaki steak was delightful. The mashed potatoes were bland though.

The bread, which was quite nice, arrived an hour later.

For desserts we ordered the espresso brownies with ice and the pancakes with syrup. This order took very long again. The espresso brownies were delicious, a great combination of tastes and textures. Unfortunately the pancakes took forever and I cancelled them. I was getting very annoyed with the chaos in this place, it was extremely loud inside and I was upset that we were unable to eat at the same time.

Children were screaming, fighting and running through the restaurant. Nobody did anything. The parents remained unphazed and just continued eating and the staff did not dare to intervene either.

I had high hopes, but the kitchen’s terrible timemanagement made me regret my choice...

First timer here, pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere, just like in your home. Food wise, the options are not bad, sadly most things we tried to order were not available.

Nasi Goreng Kecombrang was great, portion-wise and taste-wise, fragrant and not too salty/MSG driven.

Grilled Oxtail soup was tender, with nice broth, if only the chunks were bigger, it would be an A+.

The options for beverages are a plenty, from teas, coffees and in between

Tiramisu was okay, way too big, too sweet, too bitter, the balance was off

Price points were great. Service was prompt and hospitable

Definitely will comeback for another round and try their...

The atmosphere is light, clean and bright. Four of us ordered salmon lodeh, soto betawi, nasi goreng kecombrang and...because no more indonesian food choices, we order trufle pasta to taste. A bit of disapointment for such a good place.. The kecombrang fried rice was too oily and salty. Soto betawi tasted salty too. Follow by The lodeh soup which was too thick and unique. And Mister, your Pasta was too soft... We ordered 2 yakult drink. Taste good but too sweet. need to be patient waiting for the ice melts... to enjoy it at its best taste. After all these "too"...may be i'll come back to give a second chance, for a cup...
