Pondok Kelapo — Restaurant in Palembang

This restaurant is famously known since It has been visited by President Jokowi (got the info from a taxi driver though). It located in main road in Palembang and easily accesible and noticeable. The parking spots jnside the area could be filled in by 10-15 cars. However, if the parking spot is full, you can find parking spot in front of the restaurant area (pedestrian area, but in Indonesia, pedestrian is easily abused). Many seatings available in this restaurant.

They offer Indonesian food, with Palembang Cuisine as the jewel. Once you find the seat, you will be served with pempek (non frying pempek). Pindang is served here with many varieties, patin, tulang, ayam and others. Woku kakap is also served here. Many plant-based cuisine are available such as Terong Balado, Tumis kangkung, Tauge oseng and many other things available. For beverages, they offers many juices. I tried Terong Belanda with less sugar, and it tastes really great.

From price perspective, it's quite pricey but the taste is not...

Been to Palembang for vacation. I ate here once with my friends. The place is cozy, comfortable and suitable for family gathering. You can chilled and hang out here too. The environment is kinda village but seemed nice though. The air around here are so soothing and refreshened.

The cuisines and libations were great. The mixture of the foods, the portions and texture are well-balanced. The libations were total different from my country. Both taste really good but a bit spicy. The service is great, friendly but we had communication barrier since I don't speak Indonesian language. Other than that, it's fine and very well....

Homemade pempek, 50k a box is fine 7/10

Kepiting soka made me laugh because it is battered in fried chicken batter and barely tasted like crab so 3/10 is the score.

Ayam goreng mentega was expected to be kinda crispy and tender but rather i got the opposite so i give 6/10

Burung dara goreng is fine 9/10 They also have petai so 10/10 Tumis kangkung 9/10

The place got a vibe in the heart of palembang city.
