Pondok Patin H. M. Yunus — Restaurant in Pekanbaru

Foods is ok.... everythings have been said from previous reviewers but I must added all foods are already premade as most of Minang foods. Rice was served cold, same with famaous Patin fish - cold, I think it tastes better if serves in hot conditions... be careful when ordering juice drinks as sugar is added, and is a common practice when preparing any drinks.

I lived in Sydney, but was born in Bengkalis and friends and relatives still living in the area and they have highly recommended this restaurant. Cleaness 2 stars or less. Table was sticky, you can see from the mark on most of the tables, no sanitation, just a very basic clean or wiped tables. What a shame most of these workers are standing most of the time doing nothing. I must said staff are very friendly and patience dealing with customers. The place was very nice with big tables and big long chairs made of hard woods kind of like work of arts. Owner will have spent fortune for this...but like everythings else poor maintenance. Also ppl are smoking while others eating is common in Indonesia.

They served one of the best Melayu dishes di the city. Spacious restaurant with traditional atmosphere, wooden walls and floor, it was a stilt woodden building above the fish pond. I came here at night and there was live music (traditional Melayu, indonesian modern and even western song). I really enjoyed my time here, the staffs were friendly and talk to us confidently like they have the best offer for our dinner. There was one staff (a woman) who ask our order, she was so nice to us and offering menu very well, like she was telling a story, thanks to her we enjoyed our meal. The fish (gulai patin) were quite fresh, we also ordered salais fish. My favorite was their compliment side dish (it was cassava chips with hot sauce). They we're not for budget traveller though :) 5 stars for the food and the ambience. Surely will...

Once again, I return here with friends. I always like this place.

The taste always delicious, the Fish Head, Dendeng, the chips, the fried fish. Now they had fried fish skin, its also good.

The place is Authentic, Rumah Panggung with wood material. Open air and very wide area. Theres a private area with ac inside (need reservation before).

This restaurant is Melayu Style, they will put foods on table and you only pay the food you take.

The staffs fast enough in serving.

The price is not cheap here but my opionion the price was fair. The foods are delicious, good quality and the place.

I will always return here and really enjoy the Foods especially...
