At that moment my first time visited, i tried Sayu Kepala Kakap, its below my expectation, its seems like Parende from Bau Bau Sulawesi, basically fish with yellow sour soup. I think the fish lil bit less of herbs hence smell fishy.
I tried ”Tumis Jengkol” basically jengkol which is sauteed with savory oil, tomatoes, chilies, and fried shallots, at that time i felt jengkol quite undercook, perhabs boiled first much better.
Then the next menu i tried sayur asam, quite good and on point!
Their “sambal” is delicious! tasty, spicy and slightly sour.
This place is viral among food vloggers on Youtube, but for me, its quite decent taste. Perhaps, either other visitors felt the same way as me, or because I was out of luck.

Read morefirst time i came here i ate "sayur kepala kakap", actually this food is very ordinary it's typical of food that you might able to find anywhere. one thing that i found different on this "sayur kepala kakap" here is that they cook it properly, which i found it's under or over cooked on the most of the other place. even I haven't found yet this kind of food that is well cooked on any five star hotel that I've been in indonesia. they say to me that the size of fish that they serve here are all depend on what they got at the market so don't hope that you'll always got the big one here.
they only have small parking area here which is fit for 2 car but i won't recommend you to bring your personal car and use taxi or ojek instead.
it's hard for a wheelchair to get in there so if you are disabled person i recommend you to bring someone that able to carry you if you want to eat here.
the price is moderate, they only accept...
Read moreKepala Kakap Bu Panjang is a super fun street food place! They have really yummy fish dishes that taste so good. The fish is cooked just right and it's not too spicy, which is great. I love how it's crispy on the outside and soft inside. It's like having a party in my mouth!
The place is also really cool. It's outside, so I can see lots of things while eating. The people who make the food are friendly and they smile a lot. It's fun to watch them cook the fish because they do it so fast. And there's always a nice smell of yummy food in the air.
This place is definitely one of my favorites to eat fish. It's always exciting to go there and see what they're cooking. I always want to go back because it's so much fun and the food...
