I'm not going to sugar coat this.
You are totally paying for a view when you come here. The view is breathtaking but that being said, prices are very high with an added 20% tax at the end. Drinks come out to 240k IDR each.
The food is very lackluster. I ordered a soup which wasn't bad but also nothing to write home about.
I also ordered two different types of tacos which were disappointing. You get two large tacos per order, however they give you 3 small pieces of meat and then load the whole rest of the taco up with toppings like Pico and guacamole. If you like topping tacos then this is the order for you. Check my photo if you want to see the ratio.
My wife ordered pork belly. She is sensitive to spicy food and on the menu there is a chili next to items with spice. The pork belly doesn't have a chili by it. They add some sort of very spicy pepper to the soup that accompanies the pork belly and my wife almost threw her meal up after mistakenly eating it. I love spice and ate the other pepper to confirm; very hot.
The drinks were great. We would come back but only for the view and a drink. PLEASE add a chili next to the pork belly so future people won't have their meal ruined...
Read moreWe booked our stay through luxury escapes which gave us inclusions of breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, hour of unlimited cocktails and dinner. The dinner last night was limited in terms of the selections and therefore the food was average at best however this morning we were pleased to have a full range of selections for our breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! We got the chorizo omelette and the Italian breakfast and I can safely say it was one of the best breakfast I have ever had at any resort! We cannot fault the service of the beautiful staff at Aksari resort. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and lovely. The atmosphere at the Ankhusa restaurant is stunning with views of the rainforest and eating whilst listening to the natural river flowing is amazing. Overall, we would recommend the restaurant but would opt for the full...
Read moreThe setting here is breathtaking — bamboo architecture, infinity pools, and jungle views make it one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Ubud (5 stars for atmosphere). Service is cordial and welcoming, though our dishes took nearly 40 minutes to arrive without warning, which dampened the experience (3.5 stars for service).
For context, our family dinner came to around 2.3 million IDR. At this price point, guests naturally expect more consistent pacing and better communication. Even just updating us about the wait or sending out appetizers sooner would have made a big difference.
The highlights for food were the wagyu tartare, Soto Ayam, and calamari — all excellent. The pizza was fine, but the BBQ pork was too salty. Overall, I’d return for drinks and the stunning setting, but for dining at this price point, there are...
