Teluk Bakau Bay View
I chose this place based on research I did beforehand. It’s cheaper than dining at the resort where I was staying.
For context: We are 2 adults and one 6-year-old child. We arrived around 7–8 PM (WIB). There were no other customers when we got there. After about 20 minutes, a couple joined us.
What we ordered:
(Prices may vary slightly depending on the cooking method or ingredients, but not by much.)
Prawns – 90k IDR
Octopus – 75k IDR
Shellfish – 35k IDR
Kerapu (grouper) fish – 125k IDR
Crab (1kg) – 300k IDR
Rice – 7k IDR per plate
Drinks – 6k to 15k IDR
Note: No alcohol is served here, unlike some other restaurants.
Important tip:
Bring your own mosquito repellent or apply some before coming. There were a lot of mosquitoes (probably due to the nighttime and sea breeze). We struggled until we requested mosquito repellent from the restaurant. After applying it, the situation improved significantly.
Food quantity tip:
Order according to your appetite. We ordered too much for just 2 adults and ended up bringing leftovers back to the resort. We had them the next morning – and they were still delicious.
Ratings:
Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10
Beverages: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 7/10 (portions were small)
Sea View: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10
Environment: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6/10 (due to the mosquitoes – and they were the biggest I’ve ever seen!)
Restaurant lighting: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 – great...
Read moreDo be careful about their most expensive and profitable crabs. The first time we were impressed by their crab with firm meat which was comparable with Jumbo’s crab. But the second time we chose big crab and the meat is totally hollow. They still charged us big amount with very little discount no matter we showed them the disgusting crab. My lesson: Never order the crab. There are big traps!!! My good experience with bintan is spoiled by this restaurant with its inferior crabs. The hotels, which are next to this seafood restaurant are also badly affected by this seafood restaurant. Cause people would like to stay at a hotel in Bintan for its adjacent to...
Read moreThe place is terrible for tourists: The kitchen is very dirty, it's way sub-standard in term of cleanliness and hygiene. We thought for a tourist attraction like Bintan, there should be a standard for that but we were wrong. Please cleanup the dump of trash right next to the kitchen. A lot of mosquitos and flies! We stood up after a few minutes and tried to be polite by not running away, but we kind of rushed back to our taxi back to our hotel. The food was so-so, nothing special. To be frank, there are a lot of places with much better food and better hygiene across South East Asia.
Thank you for your...
