Excelso MERR — Restaurant in Surabaya

One of the best Excelso which on one huge building, I think only the one which has electronic car park gate. Car park is ample. Atmosphere is quite OK, it is crowded when we were there. It has two sections, outdoor seats is for smoking area and indoor is for non smoking. Services is slow and our orders are taking long to arrive. I guess because it's crowded. The foods is ok. One of our colleagues ordered mineral water, it never came out. Good thing, when we checked out, that order was never put down on the bill. One more thing, the waiter forgot to bring a spoon for my colleague's ice cream. So as you can guess, the ice cream melted when the waiter brought the spoon minutes later. This place is above my expectation, it's very big and even has room upstairs for meeting or small event. It's very cozy and has exceptional ambience, the best Excelso I've ever visited. Menu is ordinary, great coffee and tea selection. Korean chicken is worth to try beside the popular Sampler. Service is excellent like always, great and welcoming staffs. Adequate parking space, but difficult sometimes during rush hours. Perhaps the access is the only thing less desirable, as it's close to very busy...

Excelso is good. But I will never return to Excelso Merr. The Grab drivers have to pay rp8.000 for dropping me off there (1 min maximum) and my Grab pickup also had to pay Rp8.000 (I was waiting for him so again only 1 min). So aside from paying premium price for coffee (western prices, local wages) they also ripped me off for Rp 16.000. For Grab users I suggest Excelso Surabaya Plaza or Excelso Marvell City which allows grab drivers to drop off and...
