I recently had the pleasure of dining at Yin Resto, a hidden gem tucked away in Kenjeran, Surabaya. As a lover of authentic Taiwanese cuisine, stumbling upon this modest restaurant was a delightful surprise. Run by the owner, who hails from Taiwan herself, Yin Resto truly captures the essence of Taiwanese flavors.

I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that made me feel right at home. The owner's personal touch is evident throughout the establishment, from the heartfelt decor to the meticulously prepared dishes.

While every dish I tried was exceptional, my absolute favorite was the fried chicken. The crispy golden exterior gave way to tender and flavorful meat, perfectly seasoned to create an explosion of taste with every bite. It was undoubtedly a standout dish that left me craving more.

Be sure to try the "Classic Beef Noodle", a type of Taiwanese noodles with steamed beef. They are very delicious and the beef broth was simmered for more than 10 hours with lots of vegetables, beef tendon and beef ribs. It is full of beef essence and not greasy at all!

Each piece of beef is very soft and tender, and the noodles are very good. For a drink to go with it, I recommend the winter melon iced tea. This restaurant is also known for its dumplings and pork rice. I ordered some Taiwanese street snacks like fried tempura and fried chicken, which also tasted very original. The ingredients are still imported from Taiwan. Therefore, the taste is guaranteed to be 100% authentic!

I ordered the Taiwanese Sausage, Pork Chop, kucai suikiaw and some noodles! Crispy Chicken Rice is a must order if you’re eating alone and doesn’t have anyone to share the food with. Order a side of Fried Seafood Tempura as well to complete the vibe.

Place is very cozy and gives you some peace and quiet. Best of all, the Taiwanese owner will personally cook the food for you!

One last thing, the chili sauce that they make is to die for.
