Kedai Lobster Pak Sis Timang — Restaurant in Tepus

The good: The food was generally of high quality, and looked appetizing. The lobster, fish and squid were tender and tasty. Lobster had a tasty sauce. Sambal was nice and spicy.

The bad: The service was pretty inattentive (had to get up and ask if we needed anything after the food was initially brought out). Servers do not know any English at all. No tools were provided to help crack the lobster, so it's very messy and the spines can be painful. The bathrooms were basic and the soap was so watered down, I don't know if you can call it soap. I know it is Indonesia, but just know that this place doesn't really cater to a western crowd. Finally, there were limited food options (only lobster + stuff or lobster + more stuff). Would like to have the option to select alternative dishes for members of the party that are not into lobster.

The bottom line: A full lobster meal for 2 persons cost about 45 USD, 53 USD with an additional fish and a plate of deep fried squid. The sides and drinks (of the $45 option) probably constitute less than $5 of the value of the meal, so we are talking $40+ for the lobster(s). This is probably commensurate with the cost of lobster at the store, so I don't think it's a ripoff (lobster is simply expensive). But it's not really cheap, either. Tips:

1. We must rent a jeep to go to Timang Beach
2. Jeep to Timang Beach have 3 packages (short, medium and Long) based on how many attraction you decided to go which wrote in the package.
3. Timang Beach is the most worthly place to go, and we decided go there for sunset, because of time we pick the short package which cost IDR 350K per jeep.
4. Timang Beach have 2 option to cross the sea to reach the opposite island, through Gandola or by the Bridge. Gandola ticket: IDR 200K per person Bridge ticket: IDR 100K per person And we can only come back by the way we choose to cross the sea.

Came here in July. People of 10. Spent 2.5juta rupiah. The starting price per set is 325,000. For 2 pax. 2pax will have to order another set starting at 700,000rp. The taste of the meal was good. But I think it's a bit pricey. If you bring such a huge family member, you'll spend about 3-4 juta rupiah.
