Cafe Kupu Kupu — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

This is our third trip back to the area, each time for a month, specifically for this great little cafe where we eat most of our meals, so we've worked our way through pretty well all of the menu, including the specials. Superb selection of local food with some really good western options too. Achir is always welcoming and attentive and we think the cooking is top notch. It's a quiet little cafe with great views across the bay and we've had some great times whenever friends we have made come to visit. I'll usually have pancakes with honey and fruit for breakfast (with delicious hot strong coffee) before nipping over to Gili Asahan for a couple of dives. Then back for my favourite lunch of club sandwich and fries and a ginger, honey and lime juice. Read a book, have a shower, a quick Bintang on the verandah, then down to try something new for dinner. Really friendly, helpful and attentive staff and a simple, very affordable and super delicious menu that the staff are really proud of and will go the extra mile to make it just how you like it. Cool tableware, nice location overlooking the bay and really easy to get to and also have really cold beers, two super lovely dogs, a swimming pool, great accommodation and a great base if you are staying on the mainland with easy access to any of the islands and attractions...

Our second visit to Lombok Villas - Staying at Villa Kura Kura for two weeks. Having an amazing time 😁. Food, atmosphere and service in the adjacent cafe is brilliant!!!
