Warung Bamboo gili gede — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

Hidden away on one of Lomboks quietest islands, Gili Gede is a beachside restaurant called Warung Bamboo.

The food is worth the wait!!!!! Prepared while you sit and relax behind the Mangroves on the foreshore, the satay sauce was the best I tasted in our travels around Lombok. The GadoGado was fresh with crisp vegetables and the satay sauce just delicious! The chicken satay were perfectly cooked. The local yellow fish curry was authentic and tasty. The staff were so friendly. The kitchen is run by a husband and wife team. We ate at this place for lunch on our last full day before leaving, we wished we had found it sooner as we would have gone back...

Best warung on gili gede! We know because went to pretty much every warung on this side of the island over 5 days.

Their grilled fish was perfectly cooked! Although they only had a large one the first time which they charged us more for without pre-warning us. Also, their tempeh rendang was so incredible we went back just to have it again!

The owner was very friendly too and we had a good chat about life on gili gede.

Finally I would recommend their 'local cocktail' which was a good mix of citrus flavours and maybe half full of...

My favorite restaurant on the island (and probably from Indonesia too).

The food was really good and cheap. The owners are amazing, so welcoming and take of their customers. They’ve got a lot of really good advices from the island the culture, don’t hesitate to talk with them. You will understand why I decided to write this comment.

For your information, they also have rooms to sent (very cheap). I will sleep here next time too.
