TARUKO Coffee & Resto — Restaurant in West Sumatra

This restaurant that left me extremely disappointed with the service provided by one of the waiters. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this was going to be a frustrating experience. I approached the waiter (wearing a green hijab at 23th April 2023 around 4pm). When I asked if she could help me find a seat, she bluntly told me that it wasn't her job and that she was too tired to assist me because of this attitude I asked if she worked there, to which she responded with an indifferent and uninterested "yes."

Throughout my meal, I found myself continuously struggling to get the attention of the waiter. She seemed to be in her own world, completely disinterested in providing any sort of customer service. It was as if she couldn't care less about the satisfaction of her customers. I had to flag her down multiple times just to get a another order, (I’m ordering alot of food not just for a glass of coffee then hanging out for 5 hours) and even then she seemed annoyed by my requests.

To make matters worse, the waiter was incredibly rude when I asked about the menu. She gave me short, unhelpful answers and made it clear that she didn't want to be bothered with my questions. Her bad attitude was truly the icing on the cake of an already unpleasant experience.

Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone eventho the scenery was beautiful. The service provided by the waiter was absolutely terrible and ruined what could have been a nice meal. It's a shame that such a beautiful venue is let down by such an unprofessional and uncaring staff member. Save your money and go somewhere else where you'll actually be treated with respect...

Taruko Cafe Resto is a culinary and coffee destination located at the bottom of a canyon with rocky rivers and green cliffs around it. The concept of the building is very traditional and in the form of an open space. So that the surrounding air can enter freely. The name 'Taruko' itself means starting something with a new concept. It is on this basis that this cafe was created with a different concept from the usual cafes. The main building is made in the form of the main Minangkabau bagonjong traditional house with a fairly large size. Then there is also a small bagonjong near the river where visitors can sit for coffee while enjoying the cool valley breeze. Apart from coffee, Taruko also provides several food menus that you can enjoy. So this place is also suitable as a family gathering place. This place can be your choice when you are tired after walking around Bukittinggi. You can relax your body and mind at Taruko. While drinking coffee, while looking at the scenery, while learning Minangkabau...

Lokasi dengan pemandangannya bagus, namun sayang sekali tidak sebagus hati pihak pengelolanya yang kurang ramah pada pengunjung yang hanya sekedar menikmati suasana di lokasi resto Kejadian ini saya alami sendiri, pukul 15.30 kami sekeluarga datang dengan 3 mobil, yang 1 mobil lagi tidak ikut masuk karena sudah pernah sebelumnya. Saat kami masuk pengelola sepertinya dengan sengaja menutup akses jalan yang langsung ke pelataran bawah dengan pot bunga.., Akhirnya kami masuk melalui bagian dalam resto kemudian turun ke pelataran bawah dan saat itu beberapa pelayan melihat kami dengan wajah yang dingin tanpa senyum. Setelah beberapa lama kemudian saya naik dan memesan minuman dengan teman serombongan yang sudah duluan mesan sambil menunggu keluarga yang masih bermain dibawah, namun hampir 20 menit pesanan tidak datang, dan teman saya bilang "sudah dari tadi pesanan ku gak datang-datang" dan tidak sengaja saya melihat dua orang pelayan sedang bicara dan menunjuk ke arah kami entah apa yang mereka bicarakan dengan wajah yang kurang bersahabat. Akhirnya kami putuskan meninggalkan resto dan kejadian ini kami bicarakan di parkiran dan rombongan yang tidak ikut masuk tadi berkata "memang parah restoran ini" apakah artinya mereka mengalami hal yang sama...? Dengan kejadian ini kami berkesimpulan sepertinya terkesan bahwa "jangan masuk kalau tidak pesan makanan...",

Ingatlah bahwa resto anda dipublikasikan orang2 yang datang melalui medsos dan itu "GRATIS" jadi... tolong jangan "pelit" lah sehingga memberikan kesan yang buruk...., karena Sumbar terkenal dengan orang yang ramah terutama kepada wisatawan. Pesan.... Biarkanlah orang yang datang hanya sekedar menikmati suasana alam, karena belum tentu mereka lapar Jangan takut rugi kalau orang tak dibeli Rezeki gak akan kemana

Saya jadi teringat sewaktu berkunjungan ke pantai Iboih di Sabang, tempat wisata di sana tidak ada tiket masuk dan parkir, mereka sangat ramah.., saat ditanya mengapa tidak bayar? mereka jawab dengan logat Acehnya "nikmati aja Bang... ini milik Allah...," Karena mereka mendapatkan uang dari usaha jasa menyewakan alat selam, tranportasi dan lain sebagainya...
