Every tourist visiting Tehran must have a walk through Darband. Perfect venue for a casual stroll on a hot summer night. Visitors and locals alike are constantly approached by local street vendors and restaurant hosts to have a taste of their snacks and /or drop by for a meal. One prominently located restaurant is Koohpaye, with it's red table cloths and servers in suits and ties; but the glory stops here, take a look from outside, maybe have a few selfies, but if you are looking for good food, good service and don't want to be ripped off, move on and take a chance on one of dozens of other restaurants around. I gave them a one for location, otherwise it would have been a -1. Food: Awful Price: Total rip-off Service: Terrible (you may get better service if you are a group of 6 or more, simply tip motivated) Junior staff: humble and helpful Management and head waiters: cocky and arrogant. A MUST BE AVOIDED...

The food was average but the price expensive. I dont mind paying for high quality food but by no means it was high quality. The location was nice but the service was inconsistent, you could get a brilliant service for 5 min but then try hard to get someone's attention for 10 min to ask for bread. Or the baghalipolo ( type of Persian rice with dill and broadbean) was changed to plain in one of the dishes simply because they didnt have any left, and they didnt even think it is necessary to ask us if it is ok to give us plain rice instead. I think for a resturant who try to be posh ,a good training for staff is needed to level the service they provide. All these wouldn't be a problem if I was visiting a restaurant 20 meteres away and would have paid half the money I paid.but if you charge high you have to...

Updated:After 3 years, my husband and i decided to come again to this redtaurant just to remind our sweet stories, again it was awful and we would never come again. Prices were unreasonably high with no quality at all. Old: I used to go to this restaurant with my husband, last weekend on 31 july 2020, I went there again to have a lunch and celebrate my birthday. Comparing with past, the food was awful. When the waiter served main dish, it was cold. Shishlik kebab had the worst taste I've ever taken. Salad also was like a disaster. The season salad had only 4 pieces of cucumber as well as 2 pieces of tomato cut badly. Sauce was tasteless. I mean It was bland.To be honest it won't be my choice in the future any more.
