SPU Restaurant — Restaurant in Tehran

I recently visited SPU Restaurant in Darband with a large group of 25 people, and it was an overall pleasant experience. The standout feature of the place is undoubtedly the open-air balcony. The breathtaking view and ambiance, especially in the evening, create a serene atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation and enjoying nature while dining.

The food was generally good. Most of the dishes were flavorful and well-prepared, although I must admit that the shishlik fell short of the high standards set by Shandiz Restaurant. While it was decent, it lacked the tenderness and depth of flavor I had anticipated.

The service was friendly, but understandably a bit overwhelmed at the start due to the size of our group. There was some initial confusion, but things settled down after a while. However, we encountered a minor inconvenience during our visit: the outdoor heater malfunctioned initially. They had to bring a ladder and fix it in the middle of dinner, which was a bit disruptive.

SPU is a traditional Persian restaurant located in Darake neighborhood right next to the river. The interior design of the restaurant is a mixture of traditional and modern concepts. If you wanna experience the traditional vibe, you can find the outdoor beds near the river and enjoy your meal while sitting on wooden beds. The more modern section of the restaurant is indoor with tables.

The quality and presentation of the foods are on point. If you wanna enjoy the traditional Persian foods, especially the variety of kebabs, here is the spot. I highly recommend this restaurant to tourists and for guests from out of town.

Great Shishlik. Nice outdoor tables. Great view and fresh air. Perfect behaviour of personnel. Almost an expensive place, but worths it due to high quality of food. Usually crowded and waiting queue, but they serve free services to you at the queue. Also, Boorani and Mirzaghasemi were delicious. At outdoor tables, heating and blanket is available. Definitely a suitable place for spending time with family and important guests. For parking, you need to use a near local parking which charges you more than usual.
