Casper & Gambini’s Baghdad - كاسبر اند غامبينيز بغداد — Restaurant in Baghdad

This is the second time I visit this restaurant and it is still disappointing. First of all, the decor is excellent and elegant. The staff is polite and helpful but one of the waiters was very nosy. Here we come to the most important part which is the FOOD! Simply, it is dull and tasteless, I still don't know how people are raving with these extraordinary comments 🙄 since me and 7 of my friends didn't really like it. On the first visit we tried the geisha which is a dish included in the sushi rolls section, it was tiiiiny and very bad, I even worried if I would have diarrhea because the food looked so old. We ordered salmon poke too, it was also a very small portion with below average taste. My friends ordered chicken cashew, and steak with fries. The chicken was not good (based on their taste) and the steak we ordered it medium-rare, it came well-done and dry. Ps: the fries were good(finally something good) The second time I visited the restaurant was even worse, me and my friends had Italian pizza, it was unworthy, dull as always. We had fries with truffle sauce, it was good but very small portion for the price. We had truffle macaroni, it had nothing to do with the taste of truffles, it is just macaroni with cream. And overpriced( 15,000iqd )🙄and again, a very small portion. We had sea food provençal , this is a disaster not a dish, it consists of calamari and shrimps, I swear they have counted the pieces, I think there was 10 sticks of calamari (not even rings) with 3 shrimps 😂 this is sooo ridiculous and costed (19,000iqd) like for real?even the sauce is tasteless. Lastly, santa-fe chicken was an option to have as a salad. It was good, but jeez, the chicken is so dry. The nosy waiter asked for our opinion and my friend told him that the portions are so small, and we were not satisfied or even full, he said it is all about counted calories 😂 actually, we are here to eat at least ,half full. And even if I was on a diet, I'm not willing to have dry chicken on my plate, I want to enjoy the meal with your "counted calories " Anyways, none of us will visit it again, thanks . I recently dined at Casper & Gambini’s and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was inviting, and the service was top-notch. I was particularly pleased to see that they offer gluten-free options, which is great for those with dietary restrictions. The selection of gluten-free dishes is impressive, but I noticed that the main dishes were lacking in gluten-free options. It would be fantastic to see a few more gluten-free main course offerings to complement their already diverse menu. I had lunch with my wife at Casper & Gambini’s, and I can confidently say it was the best customer service I’ve ever experienced in Iraq. The team is extremely professional, well-educated, and truly understands the value of their customers as well as the reputation of the restaurant.

Their attention to detail, respect, and genuine hospitality made our experience outstanding. Because of their exceptional service, Casper & Gambini’s has become my favorite and number one restaurant in Iraq.
