This place is a bit overhyped to be very honest. Heard from many people that this is the best Indian restaurant in the city but isn't true to be fair. Also, one of their staff was very rude (was in black shirt and black trousers and had less hairs). We requested him to ask someone to please take the empty plates and utensils so that we could make some room for other thing on the table as there was no space, but he replied that sorry we don't pick those until you leave. We were shocked as there was no place to keep anything. Pros: - Good ambience - You get beer and other drinks in this restaurant. - Enough space for parking. Cons: - Taste of the food wasn't great, other restaurants serve better food according to me. Not genuine Indian food. - Far from the city - Average price is more than all other restaurants in the city. - No one comes in between to check if we need to order anything else, we had to wait and then call someone to order. - We ordered a drink, a started and main course. Everything was served on the table at the same time. If you don't have options then you can go to this place if not I wouldn't recommend. So in all, not good not bad. OK. This is my honest opinion.

First time in here. Apparently its here 30 odd years. Look, the food was okay but could have been better. Pakora was too spicy, biriyini was lacking substance, like more vegetables or something. It was €49 for one main course, two starters, two Naan breads and two cokes. To me that seems expensive. The inside looks like it hasn't changed in 30+ years and it badly needs a makeover. There are still Covid partitions up near the till and it looks terrible. Not sure I'd like to eat in, badly needs modernisation.

5th year in Cork and had never heard about this place that is situated 5kms away from where I stay. Ambience: Authentic Indian setup which gives a touch of fine dining. Food: Good portions and amazing taste Must try Dishes : Tandoori Chicken- 5/5 Chef special Murgh curry - 5/5 Coriander Naan - 5/5 Service - friendly and attentive staff. Desserts are not a must try but they do have large option to choose from

Ladies & Gents

Heard so much about this venue

Up to now never got a chance to go

First time yesterday with female friend

Old building with Dark but very authentic Indian entrance furnishings ornaments tapestries & decor with subtle Indian musical interludes throughout & brilliant ambiance & comfort Greeted by a lovely young local lady & 2 older males ( one Indian) Another 3rd male in very authentic stylish Indian outfit with headwear (Turban) also briefly greeted us upon entry but alas he dwarfed into oblivion until we again departed

Plus points —-Place Extremely welcoming & made our 1st visit most enjoyable to a degree bar minus points below

—-Lovely seated area —-Menus very well laid out upon authentic hard bases & details clearly explained in English — usual complimentary dishes popudoms 2nd servings free —- food delicious but pricey on some dishes

We were both Offered complimentary Guinness

My friend was on house white wine—- apparently beautiful taste/texture

We both Availed of same complimentary tea instead

We left a generous gratuity as team on the day especially this young lady & male who tended to our table

Both deserved it

Alas Minus Points😡—- Place, tables seating very authentic clean but seriously entire venue requires serious decor update including walls interior window sills

Toilets —— come on guys @ management Raj Gaylord it’s 2022

Place in existence since 2000

Hallway leading to toilets —- extremely dull dirty dark grubby with mop bucket/mop in full view

Partially tiled floors but extremely old furnishings/2 dirty old urinals with dull dark walls & surroundings with no sweet smell j GS odours. Plus damaged grubby cubicles/doors

Apparently my female friend had similar story of ladies

Toilet Hygiene —- Extremely poor

Come on R G Management

No point in having motto “ Gateway to Superb Indian Cuisine” if basic hygiene & toilets are in very poor state

Regular travellers —-who will return again in the future to savour ( pardon the pun) the plus points once again

Hopefully Toilets & over all decor will be addressed asap so as to put R G Superb Indian Cuisine @ 5 star ⭐️

Thanking you

Best wishes

First time visiting this restaurant last weekend. On entering it had a very authentic Indian style which was rather pleasant. We ordered 2 poppadoms, 2 mains, 2 rice and a naan bread. Our drinks consisted of a glass of wine and a non alcoholic beer. The poppadoms were fresh and crispy though there was only a small dish of yogurt and tomatoes, no chutney or other dips you would normally receive. Within minutes of the poppadoms arriving our mains were served. This was awkward and meant we had to make room on the window sill for the food. Basically served way too fast and not giving us time to eat our poppadom starter's. The food was adequate, perhaps a little too dry for my liking and though I did ask for medium spice it had no kick at all. When I paid by card, I was rather shocked at the price of the meal and to be honest rather wished I hadn't added a cash tip to the side plate they had at the register. In excess of €70.00 This was what I would class as extortionate. The bottle of non alcoholic beer cost €7.00 alone ! You go out of your way to drive and are hit with prices like this We were charged for a chutney selection which we didn't receive, €5.00 for a basic naan bread , mains at €18.95 and plain rice an extra €7.95 . Needless to say I won't be making...
