Jade Cottage Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in County Clare

This is by far my best Chinese food experience that I've had in county Clare.

We went as a birthday celebration at the end of last year, and it being the middle of the day, there was nobody else dining at all, so we had a beautiful private meal.

The outside is extremely deceiving. It looks very small from outside, but the interior is huge. The tables are set extremely far apart so even when full I imagine it is still private. The interior decoration is beautiful, you really feel as though you've stepped out of some Ennis car park and right into China. The intricate wood work and other decor really makes the interior attractive.

The table service then is amazing. As the food came, a very nice waitress brought the good, set our plates and cutlery and put food from the centre plate onto each of our plates in front of us. It made it so much more personal.

The menu is beautiful. It's filled with Chinese food I haven't heard of, and customers are certainly spoiled for choice. The food took a bit of time to come, but when it arrived it was very clear as to why. The food looked beautiful. Like the kitchen staff out all their efforts into making our food look perfect. Everything was clean. There wasn't a drop of stray sauce. The veg and lettuces were fresh, super fresh, like they'd just been picked.

The prices again are very reasonable.

Had a not so nice experience yesterday outdoor dining at jade cottage. We were seated on the outside of the eating tent right beside the smoking area of the Grove pub next door. The smell of fags before our food arrived was bad enough but the table of lads behind us obviously the worse for wear was not nice. I ordered cashew chicken my partner ordered sweet chilli chicken His dish was lovely as I had a taste..mine was so bland and tasteless not even a hint of oyster sauce ( and we waited 25 min for our mains) staff mentioned was all ok as I didn't eat much (fried rice lovely tho) said to her was tasteless she took it away brought me another and was the same...she took it back to kitchen again..on leaving we got the bill and they charged me 17.50 for the dish that went back to kitchen twice and very little gone from it once tasted. I decided to go inside and once I refused to pay for uneatable food they took it off my bill. Won't be...

I was on holiday in county clare and stayed in ennis last weekend . We decided to go to a restaurant in roselevan . For dinner me and my 3 friends as we were goung to play golf the next day . I had my food at restaurant and all was ok until i got back to hotel i was very sick and my friends lso got sick and we all got food poisoned from the food at JADE COTTAGE . this the first and last time we go there for food We are very disapointed as we had to go to local doctor in ennis the next evening were he verified it was FOOD POISOINING from JADE COTTAGE never again . Customers be aware stay away from chinese with bad food not fresh . My doctor said me and my friends were very lucky it was not more serious bacterial infection from the food consumed at the restaurant...
