Vaughan's Pub Kilfenora — Restaurant in County Clare

I don’t know where to start with this review since I have so much to say about how incredible this venue is for a wedding.

After getting engaged in 2023 we decided to host our wedding in Ireland. My husband and I are Canadian but my entire family is based in the UK and Italy so we wanted to choose somewhere unique that would allow those family members and friends to be part of our wedding celebrations. Vaughan’s Pub was a recommendation from another vendor we were looking to hire in Clare. At first glance they looked well equipped to handle wedding plans for international couples so we took a gamble and booked a video call. We officially signed our contract in February 2024.

We are SO happy we trusted their process and took a chance on a venue we had never seen or experienced in person. The entire planning journey from beginning to end was easy. Communication was never an issue and the staff were so easy going about everything.

In July 2024 I was able to get over to Ireland to check out the space and taste the food and to say it was love at first sight/taste would be one heck of an understatement. As a Canadian wedding planner, I can’t imagine how Vaughan’s could possibly improve on what they are already doing.

The food was excellent, the service staff were lovely and all of the add ons available to choose from made the day feel unique to our wishes.

We received nothing but rave reviews from our guests about their time at the venue which is exactly what we wanted to hear.

Thank you Vaughan’s Pub for giving us the wedding of our dreams in such a stunning space. My only real regret is not having invited MORE guests to come enjoy our wedding with us because I think more people should experience a wedding venue like this one.

We recently had our wedding at Vaughan's on Star Wars day ✨

We had such an amazing experience particularly with the staff at Vaughan's. Coillte, Patrick, Cara, Cairell, Triona & all the staff made sure our day ran smoothly & had everything as we expected it.

Starting off with planning our day it was totally stress free, no request was too big & they really added such a personal feel to our day. Every time we visited in the run up to the big day we had a positive experience.

We must also commend the kitchen on their hard work - all our guests said how amazing the food was. We had eaten in the bar many times in the run up to the day & the food was always fab. It was no different on our wedding day. The flavours and presentation were spot on and they accommodated all of our requests. The service was spot on, the wine was flowing, water refilled and everything went off seamlessly throughout the dinner.

We also had a smaller celebration the next day with our family and close friends. We had pizza and trad music in the barn which was fab. There was brilliant live music that night in the bar too!

Overall we are so happy we chose Vaughan's as our wedding venue. It felt so special to be getting ready as if we were getting married in our back garden. The atmosphere created in the barn is fantastic. We also got to pull our own pints of guiness and have a bit of craic with the locals at the bar. Vaughans Pub helped give us a wedding reception we will never forget - and in short time, too! We looked everywhere for a place that would host a small wedding reception (12 people), but still have a private place to offer for sitting. Not only did Vaughans deliver a room, they went above and beyond - from the decorations they provided, customized menus with our names, holding our wedding cake and then displaying it beautifully - we are so incredibly appreciative. The food was good (recommend their hot wings in particular, and the fish and chips meals were enjoyed by all who got them, with big fish portions and crunchy breading), but the highlight for us was the space. A private room with candles all around, decorative fairy lights, bubbly laid out on a table for us for toasting - we can't say enough about the work they put in to give us a magical and memorable...
