Really beautiful area only a short drive from letterkenny town centre. The grounds are beautiful to the house which you need to book The resteraunt was lovely for lunch then dinner that night ,with great attentivestsff and fresh food. I had the ribeye and it was the best steak i have had in a long time. They were very good at making your cocktail to suit if you did not want it too over powering. Great little circular booths for children and lots of home made cookies.

Stunning setting and a real treat of quality served food at very reasonable prices by excellent staff. I ordered the bruschetta to start then the beetroot and goats cheese sourdough sandwich for my main followed by the Carmel panna cotta all where delicious. Looking forward to returning already great place

A wonderful place for dinner. Whenever in Donegal, we try to fit in a date night at The Church. The food is devine, and the service is exceptional. We love the mussels and guiness bread, I was able to purchase a loaf to take home too 😆 A lovely restaurant for a special meal.

We went to the restaurant as part of a package deal with Rockhill. The food was great, but we have 3 main complaints.

  1. Overcharged. We were charged too much for dinner. It took two goes to try and resolve this issue. We were charged extra for sides that came with the dinner (€4.5*2=€9). We were also charged extra for a sauce. There are multiple choices for sauces. My wife asked for one and was given two by the server. An easy enough mistake to make, but not one we should have been charged for.

We were refunded, but it took a considerable amount of effort and pointing out exactly where we were overcharged on the bill. We were first refunded for the sides and later refunded for the sauce.

  1. No receipt. This is never a good sign, and it was made out that we were being awkward asking for one. We either weren't given one because it was a simple mistake, or we were knowingly overcharged.

  2. Curtness. I didn't appreciate how my wife was spoken to. She asked a very simple question which was 'We have a package with the hotel where dinner is covered to a certain amount. How much is that amount?' The server acted as if this was a massive inconvenience sighing, tapping her pen off the counter, throwing her arms up in the air and eventually saying 'I dunno, it's approximately €40'.

For those of you who are unaware, it's €40 pp. We were told by the staff of the hotel that the staff of the Church are fully aware of this. It is a simple question, and I've never had someone in a restaurant get angry with me asking where the toilet is, so it's totally unacceptable to get in a huff over this question. The restaurant had less than fifteen people in it and was not busy.

The next day, we were asked to wait in the reception of Rockhill. A manager eventually came alone and handed us a printed out copy of our receipt. She said sorry and insisted we take the receipt. I have yet to see what the point of handing us a printed out copy of an incorrect receipt was.

The experience here put a real damper on our honeymoon and we won't be...

We visited here alongside a package in The Wellhouse, part of this package we were given pizzas in The Church Restaurant. The place was really quiet, which did surprise us given the summer period. The staff were helpful to a degree but would not say it was high quality service. Our pizzas were clearly frozen and took 35 minutes to arrive, my husbands beer was also not good and very dead. Although our package didn’t include anything additional, we weren’t given the opportunity to order any sides which we would have been happy to pay for separately. There was another customer who brought back her cocktail to the bar staff and then explained how to make a cocktail. Other customers I heard ask for their drinks and when told cocktails can take longer to make, responded that it had already been 35 minutes. The staff member making drinks clearly did not know what they were doing, I appreciate they may have been new but there was no one providing any training or guidance to them. This was a highly disappointing visit as we loved the spa area, definitely won’t...

The most beautiful location and setting with nice friendly staff. We went yesterday which was the first day back for outdoor dining, the food was a disappointing to be honest. Chicken wing starters were reheated in microwave 😬 the children had soup which was lovely, prawn starter was nice too. Children's fish and chip lovely, one of ours ordered a plain burger and chip (very picky eater) and the burger had chilli or spices throughout so he didn't eat it. Desserts 7.95 which I feel is ridiculously overpriced , I had the pannacotta, it was nice but not worth that. Two of the kids ordered banana splits, which was basically ice cream and 2 or 3 banana segments (no fresh cream in sight) All the staff are very nice but it is badly run, we had about 5 different waiting staff , seems to be no delegation of tables. I feel a simpler menu with fresh produce (microwave binned) would make a great improvement. I would truly love to see this place step up a bit as it is such a fabulous setting with...
