Resubmitting here as I'd originally reviewed under the Crockets restaurant heading:||||Used Booking.com to make reservation. Though we were going to a B&B with a small bar. On arrival, find a large multi-functional place with large bar & good restaurant! With very good Guinness too!||||We received a very friendly welcome at all times. Big car park at rear of complex, some spaces at the front. All room access is from the front, so drop bags there before parking up.||||Room 6 (of 8, I think). On 1st floor of a barn conversion. 2 x single beds. Big enough for 2 persons 1 night. Comfortable beds & snuggly duvets. Good clean bedding. Heater in teh room, plus energy efficient light bulbs so had to be patient while they warmed up. TV with good instructions for use, but we couldn't find a sports channel. Really big wardrobe with lots of coathangers & shelves inside. Room was quiet. Good value for 1 night, but needs a bit of TLC to brighten/smarten it up.||||Bathroom: shower over bath. Shower creme, hand soap & 2 x white towels each provided.||||Evening meal: Hubby had curry, I had salmon - both very big portions, well cooked & well presented.||||Breakfast: much choice & again large portions - even the toast couldn't downsize!||||Booking.com stated Crockets was 1.3km from the towncentre. We decided to walk in after a day of driving. Let's just say that our round trip was 6.6km......on the shortest route we could manage.||||Would stay again if visiting...

First time in Ballina and thankfully had beautiful weather. Initially when we tried to go in for something to eat sadly it was fully booked. Went for a short walk down the quay and as we were returning to our hotel up the road the manager/owner came calling across the road to say he was able to get us a seat.

Already impressed by this my partner and me were very much looking forward to dining out for the first time in months. The menu had a very local, rustic vibe and a great selection to choose from.

I went with a pint of cider (so good to have draught again) and the hickory burger. This came with a salad and chips on the side.

Burger was amazing, I inhaled it, it was that good ha. Partner had a steak sandwich which she was extremely complimentary about. Chips were the right kinda crispy and had some garlic sauce and parmesan cheese which added to it.

If you are not stuffed and can handle a dessert the white chocolate brownie we shared was amazing.

Will be back and would recommend as extremely nice owner and staff, and delicious food (no wonder...

I booked 5 nights and met a friend there from the USA, we seen the manager there once, the only time he spoke to me was when I asked directions to the bathroom, being a sociable front man for this business, well if this is his way to enable the place to succeed it only spells failure.|The bed and breakfast rooms were smelly, and bathroom smelt of urine, probably due to carpets being in bathroom, these rooms need upgrading seriously. There was mould around windows, shower screens were dirty where silicone was insitu, sky lights in hallway mouldy and dirty.|Curtain tie backs falling off wall, showers were cold and no pressure.|Toilets in the bar area smelt of urine, even after being cleaned, perhaps new mops, disinfectant and bleach would not go amiss .|I used to be a regular here when I lived in the uk, when it was the riverboat, I also visited when owned by the Murphys, so I do have a bench mark. Shades in room was butted up to the smoke detector.|Before this place closes and fails completely, get it...

A group of 10 family members visited Cricket’s on the Quay recently and really enjoyed it. The seating and overall set up was very well done for COVID-19 compliance. The food was very tasty and I recommend the fish and chips plus the Pasta Carbonara. The chowder is also a good choice of starter. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is an interesting place for music fans and the room where we ate had several pictures of musicians including one of the famous saxophonist Coleman Hawkins. The quay area looks great at sunset.

Crockets in various guises has for many, many years been one of the “must-go-to” bar/restaurant/music venues in the West of Ireland and it continues to excel even in these incredibly difficult times under the totally professional control of Noel and his team. We all look forward to when everything is fully up and running again with the music and craic pouring out the doors and windows of Crockets, sparkling and dancing on the magical waters of the adjoining Moy River Estuary.
