McDermott's Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in County Sligo

Went for Sunday lunch 11th, 9th,2022 went there for a few times before had no problems but this time one of the waitresses was rube it felt that she did not want you there the time we booked was for four o'clock we had the lunch menu they change menus at 5 o'clock one of the girls was celiac the only thing the person ordered was salmon they had none left so asked could she look at the evening menu was told it didn't start until five so she ordered chicken and chips very small chicken breast chips were over cooked and no vegetables on the plate when asked for vegetables the waitress wasn't very happy just banged the order of mashed carrots down on the table there's was seven adults and 3 children never again will we go back for food all the meals were very small service...

I hadn't visited here in years but decided to try it again recently. Staff were lovely but first thing we noticed when we sat in restaurant was the strong smell of firelighters that was coming from the coal bucket, it was so strong even when we moved table further away from the stove we still could get the smell. We ordered the 50/50 and the presentation looked really good.. the chicken was tasty and tender but unfortunately the steak was very poor with lots of fatty grizzle running through it. Absolutely disgusted. Looking forward to rare night out. None of our local businesses are open. So booked a table to watch the match here. Phoned on day they re-opened after latest lock down. Specifically asked to be by big screen. Arrived and they put us on side table looking at a19inch TV that wasn't even in focus, at an angle and long distance away. Advised that the locals had reserved certain tables... even though I have had several phone calls asking to be by big screen and not once they mentioned this was an issue.
