People often complain about corporate this and corporate that chain this and chain that and claim they like to go somewhere different, well so do I however I do like normality, home comforts, familiarity and etc etc. McDonald's is home from home Irish style and yes there is an international difference albeit subtle. Now back to Longford which in its self is a lovely part of the world that's why Centre Parks is setting up there. So McDonald's for me is an oasis of sorts on my long travels on the road. When I go to McDonald's I know exactly what's on the menu and where the toilets are too, very important in my line of work. However better still, the staff are friendly even when busy and always genuine pleasant Longford welcome even for a Dub like me. It makes my long my long journeys short and forces me to rest which in its self is vital. So do yourself a favour don't be a silly foodie or coffee snob stop here and for God's sake smile back smiling costs nothing but it has huge value especially to the young staff at McDonald's. MY dog Teddy loves it too.

Like most McDonald’s, this restaurant is very kid-friendly and conveniently located next to a petrol station, with easy access to the motorway. It can be a practical stop for a quick lunch during travel. However, the food offerings are far from healthy. Most menu items are highly processed and contribute to poor nutritional habits — especially concerning given how many young children frequent the place, often drawn in by toys. The healthiest option I can recommend is the salad with grilled chicken, but unfortunately, there is no olive oil available. Vegetarian and gluten-free choices are very limited, though I do appreciate the clear list of allergens provided. The restaurant can get extremely busy, loud, and unpleasant, particularly during peak hours. Cleanliness is not always up to standard, which is disappointing. I recommend visiting only if you have no better option nearby — and even then, choose carefully.

Micky Ds in Athlone at Kilmartin Roundabout is your standardised, know what to expect maccas. Since moving from Australia to Eire we've made Supermacs our go to fast food joint but now and again we'll come to maccas if we're after a Shake, Big Mac or hot cakes. Like Maccas across the planet it's pretty much self-serve now with little staff interaction and customer service. I reckon maccas will become automated in the next 7 years with food being prepared by robots/machines and likewise your order or meal being brought out to you.

Everytime I order I get an incomplete order. I have complained many times but still this issue is being continued. And when the order is short they do not deliver the complete order but they alway insist on refund of the items that are missing. What does it mean? Shall I starve? For what do I pay delivery fee and admin fee? Just to get an incomplete order? The packet I received was not packed. The coffee I received was not in a carry case.. I had 3 coffees(spilling from the glass) and an opened packet of breakfast to be held in 2 hands.. how is it possible to carry it to the house? The delivery person said he will call his manager and ask for refund. I told him I want my complete order... then he went back and brought the missed items. This packet was again opened.. but it was not a sealed packet. I paid €3 for delivery and €3 as admin fee. Are we paying€6 for an incomplete and unhygienic delivery .. Whom should we blame for this behaviour? Packaging is done by the restaurant right? So I hold the restaurant to be responsible to check the order before they send it for delivery... Everytime I order I have to write a note that please check the order before you send for delivery.. Seriously is it the customer's responsibility to ask the restaurant to send and check the order properly before it is being sent for delivery? I am not getting an option to upload the photo, otherwise I would have uploaded it right away.

This is surely not acceptable.. Whenever we order online it is the...

Staff seem quite pleasant especially since I've worked in athlone and have ordered at 4am + at night and they're still attentive and helpful. However I must say this. I've heard of some folk contacting this establishment and claiming they were in the restaurant 5 or 10 minutes before the call and a particular item in their meal was either cold or wrong and they say the rest was perfect bar said item/items. So they ask if it possible to return to the restaurant despite not even having a receipt and then depending on the staff member they either get an entire meal/meals or a particular item for free. Staff are not to blame for this whatsoever they're just trying to keep costumers happy but that needs fixing because there is people out there who do struggle and don't have the funds to pay for these meals, either for themselves or their children. I myself have tried this trick in another mcdonalds in Dublin and it worked to but before they gave me the meal I told them what I was doing and paid.

Overall nice clean place but that needs to be fixed maybe customers should bring their receipts if they wish for a fresh item or if someone is struggling and need a meal maybe just walk in ask if it is possible to get something for free times are different now and people are good hearted I think if you ask nicely and explain yourself politely...

To whom ever it may concern, myself and Michael recently visited your establishment. We purchased, 1 large chips, 1 strawberry thickshake and 1 crunchie McFlurry. Unfortunately we also wanted to purchase a hot apple pie but there were none available at the time. This was a major disappointment as the hot apple pie was the primary reason for the visit. The 3 items we did purchase were satisfactory. The chips were well salted. The thickshake was nice and thick. And the McFlurry was tasty though the portion sizing was a bit underwhelming. We 100% support the use of paper straws, though the structural integrity of the straw we received was substandard. As you can imagine a thick thickshake requires a strong suction force and this straw was not able to facilitate that. In agreement with our fellow reviewers the interior appeared modern, welcoming and child friendly. Unfortunately we weren't able to experience the environment firsthand as only the drive-thru was operational at the time.Though this did not detract from our overall experience. For these reasons we believe that 2.7 stars is an appropriate rating, though this platform does not allow such an accurate judgement. Therefore we will round up the rating to 3 stars as the restaurant shows promise. We look forward to returning at a time when we can receive the full...
