Nanny Quinn's — Restaurant in County Westmeath

My Partner booked a table here for 7.30 on a Sun night recently to Treat ourselves after a good 10/12km Walk, on the Local Canal, 1 does get rather Peckish after efforts like that, we arrived on time, ordered our food selections, decided on a couple of drinks while we waited, ,,,, & waited,,,,,,, &,,, waited,,,,, so after 35/40 Mins, we enquired what the problem was, The order never got to the Kitchen,it reminds me of a certain Hotel Sitcom many years ago. The biggest shock was, we had to leave then, as the kitchen informed us, at this stage they had stopped serving hot food, In fairness we were offered Desert! 🤔🙄😩, 😱.🤐 Absolute disaster of an evening, we had to head back to local Chipper for Takeaway, unfortunately we have chalked this 1 off our regular Sunday evening food,list haunts, & sad to say, as this was a regular, Pity everybody doesnt put in a shift, like the Reg, Barman. Food was lovely, however service was not so good. There was one waitress in particular (old woman blond hair no glasses) very bad attitude, we received our food and there was scallions all over the rice which I asked can I get some new rice her reply was "the kitchen is too busy can you just scrape them off ? " also when we were leaving I asked for the the bill and the same waitress gave such a dirty look and said "you can pay on your way out " I've never experienced such bad attitude from a waitress. Whatever negativity she has going on in her own life should not be reflected in her workplace where people are spending their hard earned money trying to enjoy themselves and have a meal with their family. Great bar along the canal, serving good food, with very friendly waiting staff and the pints are delicious too....not a lot wrong at all, ha.

Young lad behind the bar could be better, but the waiting staff were excellent, constantly checking to see if everything was ok, and making sure I was well refreshed. I had two nice pints of Guinness, the food was a delicious and well tasty chicken burger with chips, with a nice bit of salad too......very tasty on the hot day it was and after walking a good bit of the canal it certainly filled me enough to keep going for another hour or so. Finished with a nice ice cream cone.......lovely
