On a recent trip to Clonmacnoise we stopped off in Ballinahown at The Village Inn . What a nice Bar and Bistro . We had a lovely lunch in the outdoor seating area , I had Pork Belly on a bed of White beans , it was melt in your mouth , my friend had Salmon Gravalax and a side order of sweet potato fries, which she was very happy with , they also offer burgers and pizzas . We were tempted by the desserts , I had a delicious brownie with some ice cream and my friend had a caramel mousse , both were yummy. A great place to stop on the way to the west , even worth a detour , dog friendly too , what’s not to like 👍🏻, look forward to returning.

This place is beyond good. The food is excellent , Shirley is a wonderful host really friendly can't do enough to make you feel really welcome. The menu caters for all. The place and toilets are absolutely spotless. Will definitely be eating here again.

Stopped here for breakfast this morning and was greeted by a lovely hostess, a warm turf fire, a well cooked breakfast and a lovely cuppa! Was generously offered a safe space for my bike under the terrace outside.

You know when you go into a restaurant and not just one of the servers ask if everything is okay but all of them want to make sure the service is good? The the owner comes out and asks you the same thing. If you are the type of person who gets annoyed by that avoid this place. Just simple don't go because the entire staff from top to bottom really cares. However if you want to eat delicious food and go to a nice place you will be welcomed. If your staying in Athlone it's maybe 15 minutes away. You won't be disappointed with the service or the...

Best of the best. Great menu, well prepared, exceptional quality, starters and mains. Short but great wine-list. Top class table service and front of house. Very good value for a top quality experience. Lovely facilities - discrete but effective CoVid controls. The whole place seems freshly refurbished - very tasty decor, super welcoming, beautiful fittings. Worth a drive from Athlone, Tullamore or Mullingar. I can see this place getting rave reviews...
