Yesterday my husband and I had lunch in this place, the food was good, but probably only in this restaurant they served 1 very thin slice of ham and half a slice of turkey. But then the whole plate was covered with carrots. the chips were overcooked and the salad was all mayonnaise. the price was not cheap for one piece of ham and a small fried chicken fillet, chips eggs with mayonnaise and a glass of milk we paid 45 euros. in addition to this the restaurant was doing renovations on the second floor during the day. it was terribly loud things were thrown on the floor and there was an incredible crash. i think this could have been done at another time. many buckets around. some with onions, some with cans of drinks. containers with forks and knives are at the level of the staff's knees and are not covered with anything, water drips on them from their towels and tablecloths. it is not pleasant when you are eating. I saw a waiter take the same cloth and wipe the tables with a wet, not clean cloth, which was terrible. The waiter wiped my table with a wet cloth and put napkins, and my napkin absorbed this water from the cloth, it was disgusting. The staff is friendly. But they do not know what good service is. After lunch, we wanted to pay and we had to stand in a long line in the corridor, the payment monitor froze and everyone waited for the worker to reboot this old monitor, which was replaced with a faster one. Very unpleasant first experience in this restaurant. I do not recommend visiting this place. But if the management changes its approach to service and trains the staff, everything...
Read moreBooked a table for a meal here last night as it was my mams choice restaurant for her birthday dinner. 6 of us ate 5 adults and 1 child. we were greeted and seated efficiently on arrival. The table was only half set with a lot of cutlery missing and no napkins. We ordered our food fairly quickly. Starters arrived and were lovely. My son's dinner arrived and he had no cutlery and after asking twice for it we just took it from another table. Main courses were mediocre, steaks were good, salmon was overcooked and dry, as was the roast beef, only got one small side of potatoes and 2 small sides of veg between 5 adults and when we asked for more there was a big deal made about it. Desserts were lovely as was the coffee. Staff were not very efficient and seemed to be tired with no interest in being there. One of them even stood at the end of our table for at least 5 minutes scraping food from one plate to another and stacking the dishes before clearing them. It was not busy and it was as if they wanted us to leave so that they could go home. We asked the girl what time food finished and she informed us it was half 9 and this was only 9:45. They then started spraying what smelled like air freshener or cleaning solution and it was very overpowering so we had to leave as my mam started to feel sick from the smell. Staff could definitely do with some much needed training. Overall food is good value starters and desserts were fabulous mains left a lot to be desired and staff definitely need some extensive training. If it was my first experience of the restaurant I definitely...
Read moreWent here ages ago like a few years and noticed I never reviewed it. This place has to be one of the worst Restaurants I ever visited. Other than the place actually being converted from an actual castle their isn’t much else to praise about it. Biggest issue is the owner. I visited with a friend and me and her were bluntly told by him to wait, no polite greeting or apology for delay in getting us a table for two. Then it must have been 2 of his friends that came in and skipped ahead of us because after waiting 10 minutes instead of seating us he seated that other couple who just walked in without reservations as I remember him asking them if they had and saying no, it was really annoying. When I attempted to talk to him he ignored us and his sudden angry attention was on a young staff member. He soon walked away without helping us. The actual staff member helped us upon eventually returning and once we sat we expressed our sympathies for having to deal with such a manger, to which point we were told he in fact was actually the owner. The staff member told us yeah he is a rude person that we weren’t the first to make this complaint. I am refusing to mention if the staff member was he or she as I don’t want the person to get in trouble. I really advise the owner I met all those years ago to take a class in customer service. I won’t be visiting your Restaurant ever again. Last piece of advice...better soundproof your kitchen, while trying to enjoy our meal all we heard is the kitchen staff constantly yelling out every order. Average food and...
