Kathmandu Nepalese Restaurant — Restaurant in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

I went here yesterday afternoon around 5pm with my husband and my 3 year old daughter as we love the food. Food as usual was lovely and service was great. My issue is, my daughter was eating ice cream for dessert and was offering me and my husband some. Next minute I felt a hard tap on my shoulder and turned around to some American man giving out that my child was been “too loud”and I should keep her quiet! Let me again remind you it was 5pm and we were the only people there until this man and his wife arrived but regardless my child was in no way been very loud or disruptive in any way! The staff witnessed this and seen my shock but didn’t bother to intervene. My husband decided to go over to this man and told him off as again the staff didn’t seem to care. I’m just glad I wasent there on my own with my daughter as I was very frightened and shocked by his behaviour. As a result I won’t be returning to this supposedly family...

This is a charming restaurant with the perfect atmosphere and service to go with their excellent food. Due to a coincidental series of social events this was our third meal at Indian/Nepalese/Pakistani restaurants in a week and possibly the best, although Daata was a close second. The prices are very reasonable - I would suggest getting a selection of side dish size vegetarian options which are still very generous portions and allow you to try more dishes. Along with rice and excellent naan this was really a meal to remember. Particularly good were the paneer & peas in a fenugreek sauce (kerau paneer) and channa masala.

First time to eat here and I have to say the food was absolutely delicious. We shared Kathmandu veg & a sizzling meat platter (my fav was sizzling prawn) to start. My friends had the Kathmandu special mixed Sizzler, delish, highly recommend👌. Others had the Himalayan chicken curry, which looks green but is really tasty.😋 I had the prawn tikka masala and we shared pilau Rice, a peshwari naan & garlic and coriander naan. The wine was decent and all for €50 per person! Very good value for how delish...
