Visited with family members for some food on a Saturday afternoon. Booked the table online where it said high tables only. When we arrived we were seated at high table with no back on the stools. I asked could we have the seats with the sofa on one side instead as my four year old daughter could not sit on a stool. The rude response was “that’s what you booked and that’s all we have”. Looked around the pub and there were several low tables available and high tables with sofas. Eventually we were told we could sit at one of the high tables with a sofa but it had to be empty by 4pm as a party of 20 were due. We sat down and ordered our food. Whilst eating our food, two gentlemen sat at the table beside us to have a pint. They were not approached to be told to move at 4pm for the party of 20. Also from where I was sitting I could see several empty seats at low tables that were still empty when we left at 3.45. It is a pub but you cannot seem to just drop in on a whim and have a drink and a bite to eat. When you walk in you are met by a bouncer / security guard and asked “what’s your booking”. The main staff are extremely rude, hostile and unwelcoming. I honestly don’t know how the lady named Ana has a customer facing role as her people skills are atrocious. Any of the staff working on the floor who bring you drinks, food or clear the tables are very pleasant, smiley and approachable. The price of 4 lunches and a bowl of chips was madness - the food was just ok, nothing to rave about. Used to drink in this pub regularly before Covid and also loved to eat here but after yesterdays experience I will be giving it a miss for the foreseeable.

(Also a staff member had to stand on the table beside us to reach some tv connections and the table was not so much as wiped down or sanitised afterwards - not very hygienic for a so...

Came here with my friend we were travelling up from cork. I Was really shocked by how poor the service was. We arrived early to use the toilet by about 20 mins and the girl at door looked at us like we had three heads and just said alright and turned away. Never bothered to show us where the toilet was or have any manners. Whilst we were eating not once did anyone come over to ask us how the food was, even though they were walking past. Then the worst part was that a staff member decided to approach us just after when we were done our dinner to pay as chief was finishing up ( don’t know why this was not said to us when we came in). My friend was a bit a taken aback as nobody else was being asked and she told him we wanted to order dessert. He didn’t seem to be too happy, took our order for dessert and managed to get the order wrong after my friend repeating it three times. The waitress then had to send it back when the wrong one came out. Got the bill and thought it was a Steep. I asked when ordering my main dish could I have curry instead of the mayo and garlic sauce that came with it. They just gave me curry but Decided to charge me an extra 2 euro for it. As I didn’t get the garlic and mayo I don’t get why I got charged for curry on top of the price for my main. The Food was average but the dessert was really good. Wouldn’t be the type to usually leave a review but I couldn’t get over how unwelcoming the staff were. I think the way we were approached to pay straight away was rude without even giving us a chance to order dessert or even ask us if we wished to. Had food here today and the one star rating is for the food which was nice. The service on the other hand was the worst I have ever come across. We arrived here and there was another family in front of us checking in , the girl dealing with the check ins turned around to us in a rude manner and said come in and close the door!! We were then brought to our table and we requested a high chair, four requests of four different staff members we eventually had to go looking for one ourselves when our starters came. We had two tables and we got our starters some of the group were handed there starters and main courses together to eat!! The rest of us were left sitting for nearly 45 minutes before we had to ask for our mains and to clear our starters, had we not of asked we Would probably still be sitting there with our starters in front of us ! The quickest part of the whole thing was the bill been produced to us within 2 minutes of asking!! No time to even get deserts as we were told going in they needed the table by 3.30. The staff are running around the place but yet there is absolutely no proper management of them in place what so ever , everyone’s passing jobs onto another staff member they are passing on the floor. Would make a lot more sense to have a couple of people look after different areas. I have eaten in quiet a few RHK bars all which are busy places and have never come across the bad service like I did today. Visited the paddock after seeing it on Facebook, after getting in the front door we were told by door staff it was a 45min wait which we were fine with, we entered the main area and the place was packed and being our first time we asked a staff member what way the system works do we give our name or do we get a buzzer to let us know when our table would be ready to which we go a reply oh you just stand about, the place was that packed abs people jumping on tables the system was way to chaotic for us as there was no way of ever getting a table. We walked through to the small bar at the side and got a seat only because a man approached us and said you have no hope of getting a seat sit here beside me if you want, so we did. Service wasnt great as we were forgot about a few times, we ordered cocktails but after nearly a half an hour wait we asked again and were informed our waitress should have told us there was nearly an hour wait on them, by that stage we were ready to leave. I got chilli honey chicken which was nice my other half ordered the chicken goujons which looked like frozen and tasteless. I had to order dessert as I had seen lots on posts on social media advertising their desserts, the dessert I wanted was sno available so I choose another was ok bit sickening. When paying the bill we noticed the man who invited us to sit down left without paying his bill so it was added to ours! Disappointing as I had high expectations of this place

Went here for paddys day. We ordered 2 sundaes and 2 cocktails. The milkybar sundae was very plain, might I suggest add something like strawberries, caramel sauce, rice krispie chocolate mix or marshmallows or something. Also, upon looking at other recent reviews, we definitely got smaller portions of the sundaes, and the presentation was not great. The Kinder sundae was missing marshmallows and the milkybar sundae was missing shaved milkybar. The sundaes are suitable to share as they’re very filling! Some things on their socials can’t be found on the menu even if they were posted recently. Saw a big mozzarella stick advertised on tiktok but did not see it in the menu at all unfortunately. In fact, there were many things even on their online menu that weren’t in the menu given to us on the day. The cocktails we had were the Loop the Loop and the Tropical Breeze. The LTL was lovely, but I found the tropical breeze too sweet to start and ended up being sour towards the bottom. I was more expecting it to be like a shaved ice cocktail but it was more liquidy. Service was okay given the day that was in it. But the music was WAY too loud, to the point of inducing anxiety. It was too loud to talk or order anything. And this was at 5/6pm, which is pretty early. We didn’t get any savoury food as we weren’t hungry enough for dinner but it smelled amazing. That being said, I would definitely visit again but definitely not on Paddys Day!

When we took photos and were about to leave after letting them know we’re reporting them to the HSE for the breach of Covid guidelines for hospitality, they suddenly changed their mind and moved the people in the table next to us elsewhere and gave us those seats back. It turns out a member of staff gave away two seats of our six seater table to a walk-in and just didn’t think we’d care that 6 people were supposed to squeeze into it! No apologies, no discount off the bill for the massive inconvenience and we were told to be thankful that they moved the people beside us when it was their mistake! This place was chosen by someone in our group celebrating a birthday (which was noted in the booking) but they never acknowledged the birthday which they used to do according to people in our group who had been here before. The food wasn’t even nice, it was a big portion but it was too much food for one person. Avoid at all costs.
