I had a really nice experience at Heather Restaurant 2 weeks ago when I stopped to this place since I was cycling under the rain all morning! I came in just to eat something warm and instead I found a very warm welcome and service by Denis! He encouraged me to eat inside, even the outside area is cover, and indicated where were the toilets since I seems like I was taking a bath with my clothes on! I had a very nice soup of the day with irish bread and a hot chocolate with marshmallows (suggested by Denis). It was a perfect combination for get warm and continue my way to the Gap of Dunloe! I really appreciate the kindness of Denis! Hope to come back in the...

We stopped here after having a drive around the countryside.

They had plenty of parking outside which was a big plus compared to other places around!

It was late in the afternoon but they were still serving food, we got a hot drink and cake which was absolutely delicious. We were both very happy with our snack here. There is a lot of seating with some next to the windows facing the garden.

Although we didn't order any hot food we did see some being served and it looked great. We were quite jealous!!

There are a good number of toilets in the bathroom too and they were very clean.

Definitely recommend this stop if you are driving/walking around the...

5 stars Heather Café is a real Irish treasure. Nestled in a stunning setting, it’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. The food is fresh, hearty, and beautifully presented — perfect after a morning exploring the countryside. Their brown bread is top-notch, and the coffee is just what you need to warm up on a misty Irish day. The staff are kind, welcoming, and full of local charm, happy to chat or offer a recommendation. Whether you’re a visitor passing through or a local regular, Heather Café is a must-visit for great food and even...

4 stars because there aren't any vegan options. If you take the potato cakes and eggs off the veggie irish plate, I think it would be vegan (?), but i can't confirm. The coffee is fantastic, and the rest of the food looks great. Good prices, convenient location, decent parking if you get there early. It's also attached to a small gift shop, and the bathrooms are clean.
